A wedding of interest was solemnized Wednesday, Dec. 30, in Calvary Lutheran church, Silver Spring, Md., when Rev. Frederick W. Kemper offici ated at the marriage of his daughter, {Catherine Lydia, to Dr. Donald E. Antonson. Miss Kemper is the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Kemper of 10104 Kin ross avenue, Silver Spring, Md., and Dr. Antonson is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Antonson of 2509 N. Villa lane, McHen ry. The church was decorated» in a "Medieval air" with coats of arms, banners, evergreen wreaths, torches and a large Christmas tree trimmed with gold decorations for the 7:30 evening ceremony. The pretty bride wore a floor length gown of shimmery white miramist over blue satin, fash ioned with a flowing train. Lace accents dhhanced her veil of miramist. The bridal en semble was made by the bride's sister. In the tradition of "something old", Miss Kemper wore her great-aunt's * bridal slip. She carried a white flor al topiary ball suspended from white velvet ribbons. Mrs. Eivor Kemper of Ta- koma Park, Md., was matron of honor and Miss Sandra Ger- fen of Baltimore, Md.. served as bridesmaid. The matron of honor was attired in a floor length gown of blue miramist over blue satin. The bridesmaid wore a similar gown of blue miramist over white satin. Both carried white floral topiary balls trimmed with blue baby's breath and suspended from light blue ribbons. A friend of the groom, Rog- - er Little of McHenry, served as best man. Groomsman was Michael Kemper of Takoma Park, Md., while Thomas and Michael Antonson of Martins ville, N.J., served a^ ushers. The bride's mother chose a pink dress and jacket ensemble with matching accessories. Mrs. Antonson wore a deep green and beige chiffon sheath with green accessories. After the ceremony, a recep tion for 250 guests was held in the church hall, followed by a private reception at the bride's home for 75 friends and relatives. Miss Kemper received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Concordia Teachers college, River Forest, after completion of requirements for primary and secondary education in struction. Dr. Antonson re ceived his doctorate from Loy ola School of Dentistry in Chi cago. He is presently employed as a dentist at Great Lakes Naval station. Following the wedding, the newlyweds will reside in Mc- Hcnry. Out-of-town guests who trav eled to the wedding were the groom's aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Winkel, and the groom's grandmother, Mrs. Edla Antonson, of McHenry. Couple Wed In Wisconsin Nuptial Rite A wedding of interest was held Saturday, Dec. 26, in the Trin ity Lutheran church in Reese- ville, Wis., when Nancy Louise Soldner of Beaver Dam, Wis., exchanged nuptial vows with Lloyd Michael Thompson of Waterloo, Wis. Miss Soldner is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl E. Soldner of Reeseville, Wis., and Mr. Thompson is the son of Mr. George Paul Thomp son of McHenry and the late Mrs. Thompson. Rev. Albert F. Grothe offici ated at the 2:30 afternoon tra ditional marriage rite. Bou quets of white gladioli, pink carnations and white pompoms decorated the altars of the church. Soloist for the cere mony was Thomas Radke of Beaver Dam, accompanied by Mrs. George Neuberger of Reeseville on the organ. Given in marriage by her father, the pretty bride wore a white velvet, floor-length gown fashioned with a high neckline, empire bodice and full Camelot cuffs with Venice lace detailing. Tiny velvet buttons enhanced the bodice. Her chapel length, man tilla, illusion veil was border ed in matching Venice lace. She carried a cascading bouquet of red escort roses and pink ele gance carnations. The bride's sister, Mrs. Pat ricia Hahn of Hustisford, Wis., was maid of honor. Another sister, Mrs. Rose Schimke, of Thorp, Wis., served as brides maid along with two friends of the bride, Mrs. Phyllis Hankel of Dubuque, Iowa, and Mrs. Jan ice Borth of Hancock, Wis. The attendants wore plum velvet gowns styled with em pire waists, pleated collars and modified bishop sleeves with Camelot cuffs. The waistlines were enhanced with sequin and silver metallic braid. Their Camelot headpieces featured three-tiered tulle, veiling of graduated lengths. They carried matching plum velvet muffs on which were centered arrange ments of bridal pink roses. Gowns, headpieces and muffs were designed and made by the matron of honor, Mrs. Hahn. Robert Thompson of Elgin, served as best man for his brother. Groomsmen were Thomas Thompson of McHenry, the grooih's brother, and Rich ard Buss of Milwaukee, Wis., and Vincent Cina, McHenry, both brothers-in-law of the groom. Ushers were Paul Kreitzman of Clyman, Wis., and Vernon Benjamin of Iowa City, la., another brother-in-law of the groom. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Soldner chose a lavender, A-line dress featuring a jewel neckline and lace trimming on the waistline and sleeves. She wore a corsage of lavender cymbidium orchids. A receptioi# for 200 friends and relatives was held at the American Legion hall in Beav er Dam. Mrs. Kenneth Huber of Waterloo, Wis., a cousin of the bride, cut the cake while Beth Hahn, the bride's niece, circulated the guest book. The bride graduated from Wisconsin State university in Stevens Point, Wis., with a Bachelor of Science degree. She is presently an English- speech teacher at Beaver Dam Senior high school. The groom was discharged from the Army in 1969 after serving as a mil itary policeman in Germany for nineteen moniiis. He is now em ployed as a lithograph offset pressman at Perry Printing in Waterloo, Wis.
