Their first week included a trip to Disney­ land, which the kids thought was great, also Knotts Berry Farm and the Wax Museum as well as a reunion with John's two brothers who live in Los An­ geles. From there the family traveled up the coast to Se­ attle to visit two more of John's brothers and enjoy the pretty scenery. A very good time was had by all. BIBLE CHyRCH NEWS The Wonder Lake Bible church® is planning a pot-luck supper and meeting on Thurs­ day, Jan. 14, to discuss the sale of the remaining church bonds. On Feb. 10-13, the Lay In­ stitute for Evangelism, (LIFE), will be conducted by the Cam­ pus Crusade for Christ Inter­ national at the First Baptist church of McHenry and mem­ bers of the Wonder Lake Bi­ ble church will be participating in this event. Work on the new Wonder Lake Bible church, lo­ cated on the north end of the lake, is continuing through the winter months. The structure is now closed in and work is progressing on the inside. SURPRISE PARTY * A group of friends and rel­ atives gathered Saturday night, Jan. 2, to surprise Jerry Draff- korn on hit birthday. The eve­ ning, which was planned to per­ fection by his wife, Betty, was filled witit party games, dancing and wall to wall laughter. The gifts Jerry received were both useful and ftinny. One particu­ lar gift, an informative book, was carefully reviewed throughout the evening by an interested friend. A delicious buffet of Italian beef sand­ wiches, baked beans and ma­ caroni salad was enjoyed by all. One guest summed up the whole party as she walked out the door: "Twas a slice of heaven?" NATIVITY LUTHERAN NEWS The Nativity Lutheran church will have its annual congrega­ tional meeting on Sunday, Jan. 17 at 11 a.m. Also on that day the Shepherders of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran church of McHenry will sponsor a square dance at Edgebrook school, Mc­ Henry. All profits of this danfce will go to the rebuilding fund of Nativity Lutheran church of Wonder Lake. CHRISTMAS LUNCHEON Miss Lynn Raske entertained a few of her friends at a Christ­ mas luncheon on Dec. 31.
