SOPHOMORES Boyland, 57 - Marian, 56 The sophomore game could perhaps be best described as another heartbreaker lost in the last few seconds of the game. With two seconds remaining on the clock, Boylan made a bas­ ket to pull ahead by 1 point. Marian's last effort to score was in vain. Once again Chuck Stogsdill was the high scorer for Mar­ ian with 23 points. Boyland led throughout the game and slowly gained momen­ tum each quarter to finish by a score of 77-55. In the free throw department Marian made 3 out ofn6 com­ pared to Boylan's 15 out of 24. High scorer of the game was Franklin, from Boylan, who added 31 of the Titan's 77 points. Randy Jackson still managed to get 19 points for the Canes and John Bolton chip­ ped in with 16. This weekend Marian will have two conference games. Friday night, Jan. 22, the Hur­ ricanes will have an away game with Montini at Lombard and Saturday night will play Benet at home. Game times are 6:45 p.m. and 8 p.m. Support this number 1 Marian team by com­ ing to the games. A highly successful artist who also did a short stint play­ ing football with the Bears, James Uhlir is the next at­ traction in the Creative Living Series.
