HONORABLE MENTION Alyce Kowal has received her 1,000 hour pin for volunteer work at Downey Veteran's hospital and she's well jan her way toward a higher hour award. Alyce tells me that golf season is about to open at Downey and anyone having golf equipment lying around collecting dust and if they would like to donate it for a very worthy cause give me a call and I'll relay the message to her and she will arrange to pick it up. If there is any one with pocket edition books or bowling balls they are no longer using and have no use for, Alyce will also pick up those items. If need be Downey will plug and re- drill the bowling balls if they get them. The Veterans there would appreciate any such donations as they really enjoy the sports connected with those items.
