PLAINDEALER PHOTO The Bavarian Sausage and Cheese Haus, an unusual new food store, has recently opened its doors at 3412 W. Elm St., in McHenry. Owner Richard Hank ex plained that the business was an outcrop of a longtime idea. Formerly from Itasca, Illinois, Mr. Hank spent 25 years in the banking business prior to opening the store here. During his banking career, he developed an interest in baking and dealing with the public, a combination of ventures which he is now able to pursue. The store specializes in homebaked bread, baked hams, eye of the round roast beef, homemade Polish sausage, and homemade leberkaese, all of which is prepared in the establishment's own ovens. A new complete Water System, weighing ap proximately 50 pounds, is now being offered by Jacuzzi Bros. Inc., Little Rock, Arkansas. Called the AquaGenie because it seems almost magical in its advantages, the Genie delivers constant pressure and volume throughout the home at all times. The service provided by this new type of water system is equivalent to city water systems, and it is available here in McHenry. The Jacuzzi AquaGenie is offered in two packages, either with Jet pump or Submersible from Jos. H. Huemann & Sons & McHenry County Well & Pump. The Jet Genie comes with the new Jacuzzi RM pump in one-third, one-half, three-fourths and one hp., while the Submersible package is available in one-half h.p. in either 2-wire or 3-wire construction. Regardless of how many taps are being turned on and off, there is no surge through any outlets with the Genie. It always provides constant pressure and volume, right up to the limits of the pump. The magic of the Jacuzzi Genie is concentrated in an exclusive control device. This device (Patent Pending), together with the pressure switch, is all it takes to pressurize and operate the pump. The pump starts on demand, always delivering water at constant pressure and volume. "The AquaGenie, before being offered for a wide distribution, was first proved by the most extensive field testing program ever con ducted by Jacuzzi. Over 300 systems were installed in every part of the country, in every type of well. The AquaGenie, of course, brings water directly from the well at all times, consequently the water is always fresh," said Jos. H. Huemann & Sons, & McHenry County Well & Pump. He reports that, as the AquaGenie home water system is complete in itself, it eliminates the need for tank, tank pit or tank house. And, as the AquaGenie is pressurized not by air but mechanically, it eliminates any waterlogging, the major cause of system failure and main tenance expense. IVew Osco Assistant The one-time home of McHenry State Bank reflects the architecture of a different era as it casts one of Main Street's most stately poses. McHenry, like many small towns, has a Main Street of its own. Although our Main Street is no longer the principal artery of the city's commerce, it still remains an integral part of the community. The wide scope of products and services offered in the few short blocks serve to keep a steady flow of traffic on the street. And, busy or not, Main Street gives an in sight to both "the Old McHenry" and the new "signs of progress", as reflected in the contrasting architecture. mm imrmn-m 1/ Long established businesses are not uncommon of this street, but McHenry Tire Mart seems to be the "dean of Main" op erating for over 50 years.
