McCullom Lake Mildred Watson 385-3585 Plan Stocking LQke With Fish During May fMie to the time and effort of so many people McCullom Lakfe will once again become a lake to be proud of. During the month of May the lake will be staked with bass and later blue gill and in the fall hopefully some of that great sporting fish northern pike will be added. Sounds great and it is trtrt as the saying goes good tilings come to those who wait. It' fe recommended that a two yifia'i waiting period be ob served before anyone starts fishing in the lake. This gives the fish time to spawn and to grpw large enough to have a sporting chance, and for you fishermen to enjoy your fishing to the very fullest. Many years ago McCullom Lake was clear, cool and beautiful. It can be again if *we all do our part. Maybe we can have the most b&lutiful lake in the county if toe all try. VILLAGE CLERK we all know McCullom Lwte now has a Director of dftil Defense. The ordinance hps been passed, but since tfcfere was no money involved it was not necessary to publish it. A&y interested parties are free to come to the village clerk's office to read the document. Any questions regarding any other ordinance will be ex plained by the village clerk. VILLAGE BOARD The next meeting of the village board will be held on No self-respecting accountant, would ever make The Silly Little Mistake. A financial man frittering away the com pany's money? Never! No self-respecting accountant would ever dial the Operator and ask her to place his out-of-state Long Distance calls. Not when he cpuld dial them himself and save money. Next time you make an out-of-state call, don't make The Silly Little Mistake. Dial the number yourself. It's cheaper. @ Illinois Bell May 5 at 8 p.m. in the beachhouse. "Skeets" Morris will be given the oath of office at this meeting and Frank Low will be there to explain the types of insurance we will need for the beach and park. Everyone is welcome. See you there?_ LADIES OF THE LAKE 'The next meeting will be May 13 at the beachhouse. Don't forget to save those usuable items for the rummage sale to be held near the end of the month. ^ CONDOLENCES Our deepest sympathy to the family of John Kuczkowski, Jr., who passed away at the Pistakee Bay home April 20. Our condolences to the family of Cruz Gomez. Mr. Gomez died . April 22 in the McHenry hospital. COMPLAINT TIME AGAIN The greatest complaint is about the students who leave the bus at gate six. It seems as though some of them refuse to get out of the way of the ~ motorist. Please kids this is no way tp close the generation gap. It is dog time again. Please keep your dog in your own yard for your neighbor's sake and the dogs. MAILBOX IMPROVEMENT WEEK Here is the check list to improve your mail box. 1. Be sure your name is on the ap proach side. 2. Your house number on the door. 3. Fasten the box securely. 4. See to it that the post is firmly planted. 5. Check the door. 6. Check the flag. 7. The approach should be hard and level. 8. Paint the box so it won't rust. 9. Mail box height 42 inches from the bottom of the box to road level, (large mail box 40 inches.) 10. All mail boxes must be placed, so that the mail carrier will not have to leave his vehicle. Since the village has better than average mail service let's all cooperate. Make is easier for our mailman. VISITORS Mrs. Josephine Giosa was very thrilled Thursday af ternoon when her grand daughter, Mrs. Jeanette Pepoon, and son, Craig, from Carpentfersville paid her an unexpected visit. Josephijne hasn't seen them since Christmas and they had a lot to talk about.
