HERE AND THERE] IN BUSINESS COMPANY SALES For the fiscal year ended March 31. Modine Manufac turing company's sales were off slightly, while earnings dropped 174 percent, E.G. Rutherford, president, has announced. Sales volume for the fiscal year totaled $89,938,000. compared with $80,202,000 a year earlier. Net earnings were $3,056,000 compared with $3,704,000 last year. Per share earnings for the year were $2.22 compared with $2.71 a year ago. Con tributing to the decline, in addition to the continually increasing cost-price squeeze, were the low level of activity in the non-residential con struction markets, limited supplies of natural gas which depressed the demand for gas- fired unit heaters, and a strike which idled the company's Bloomington plants during the entire month of March, ac cording to Rutherford. for an ugly problem. fflB ram i I Feedsy°ur Save BOO 15,000 sq. ft. size Reg. $19.95 Now $16.95 Save *200 10,000 sq. ft. size Reg. $13.95 Now $11.95 Save 50C 5,000 sq. ft. size Reg. $7.45 Now $6.95 Ace Hardware Store 3729 W.
