(Eve) Levesque of McCullom Lake and Mrs. E.E. (Ronny) Margason of Wonder Lake last week attended a two- day joint conference of the Illinois / Federation of Republican Women and the National Federation of Republican Women in Chicago. Under the leadership of Mrs. D.V. Watson of Charleston, president of the IFRW, delegates and visitors to the convention Thursday par ticipated in idea swapping sessions, listened to party leaders, and garnered new methods for successful program planning. Highlights of the conference, held Thursday and Friday, May 13 and 15, in the Conrad Hilton hotel, included talks on President Nixon's Revenue Sharing Program and Governmental Reorganization by U.S. Congressmen Barry Goldwater, Jr., of California; Marvin L. Esch of Michigan, and John T. Myers of Indiana. Known as Nixon Traveling Salesmen, the three representatives spoke Thur sday night at the IFRW banquet. Final Season Concert Sunday At Area Church St. Thomas church (Oak St.), Crystal Lake, will be the setting for the final program in the 1970-71 concert series of McHenry County college Sunday, May 23, at 8 p.m. Oggan and brass will play music by Gabrieli, Greene, Gesu&ldo, Wuensch, Dahl and Peters. Wesley Vos, organist, is assistant professor of music at MCC. Brass players include David Scherer and William Toalson, trumpets; Stuart Hughes, horn; Sally Pierce, bfritone; and David Pierce, trombone. Mr. Scherer teaches iQ the elementary grades in Crystal Lake, and Mr. Toalson teaches at McHenry high school. Dr. Hughes is associated with the Quaker Oats research facility in Barrington. Mrs. Pierce teaches in the elementary grades in Union, and Mr. Pierce teaches at Woodstock high school. St. Thomas church has one of the largest pipe organs in the area, and it is an interesting example of contemporary architecture. The public is cordially invited. There is no admission charge.
