It is public policy of the state of Illinois that all children will be protected as soon after birth as medically indicated, by the appropriate vaccines to prevent measles, polio, rubella, diphtheria, tetanus and other communicable diseases which are preventable by im munization. The program will be held Wednesday morning, June 30, from 9 until 11 a.m. Parents whose children have not been immunized because they find the cost a financial burden should come to the Health department office at 209 North Benton street, Woodstock, next Wednesday at 9 a.m. Working Women Four out of every 10 married women are working outside the home. their own service and picnic lunch for themselves and guests. The society will fur nish coffee and tea. Mayor James R. Mrs. Kathy Downes; teacher at Oak Knoll schooL Cary, brought her class to the his torical headquarters and again wide-eyed youngsters were seeing at first hand utensils and tools made and used by their ancestors. A set of marsh shoes for horses, used when working in soft or marsh land fascinated them. Also the metal, carpet covered foot warmer, wedge shaped so that it lay flat on the floor, but slanted so that the feet could rest a- gainst it, warmed by heating a block of carborundum andplac- ed in the metal drawer, intri gued them. It was explained this was put in the buggy or car riage, a blanket placed over the person's legs, keeping their feet warm until they reached church and then carried into the church and set on the floor in front of the pew. The heat would be retained for a couple of hours. A recent acquisition is a red leather bound volume containing the .history and genealogical record of the Ames family with its many branch families. This was donated by Faber K. Ames of Los Angeles.
