Then it \fas all Dog House, as they out Ml. out fielded and out played Hettermann's. The game ifieant a lot to both teams, but Do£ House must have wanted the win more, as they came out t&i top with the win. J-Ir the game for 3rd place .Hike s Pizza & Pub defeated @trl's 16 to 6 to capture 3rd jflace. and sending Carl's home tfith the fourth place trophy 'The tournament began the first weekend of August, with a fjeld of 16 teams. After the first round finished 8 teams remained for further play. The following weekend play resumed and after Saturday night 4 teams were left. Then at 1:00 Sunday, Dog House beat Carl's, and then Hettermann's beat Jake's Pizza & Pub. Then Carl's lost to Jake's Pizza for third place, and 1 game remained to be played. Dog House then beat Hettermann's for first place. There wasn't a most valuable player award for the tour nament, but if there was, Dave Smith of Dog House probably would of won it. He went C for 13 with 5 UK's and 11 RBI's. His all around play and his hot bat really came through for Dog House in the tournament. One player who was really proud of his team was B. Harris the manager of Dog House who missed the games due to an injury in league play. He probably felt lonely in the hospital, but he now has some company, his team's first place trophy August 12, 1971 Dear Mr. Walsh: Enclosed are two snapshots of your gal "Brenda" taken at the 30th anniversary banquet. Tee off time on Sunday, Aug. 22, for the leaders is 12:21 p.m. In the Handicap Cham pionship after 18 holes, veteran golfer Doc Sayler is leading with a net 66 followed closely by G. They ended up with an overall record of 13 and 1. Second place went to Dog House who finished with a 12-2 record Old Bridge finished third with a 9-5 record. Thursday night the playoffs begin and 4th place Mer's Beach takes on first place Hettermann's at 7:30. That game is followed by the Old Bridge - Dog House game.
