Ingeborg had a little get-together with some of the neighbors for her mother and the guests included Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Pearson and Jim, Mrs. Mabel Hawley and Mrs. Nellie Hepburn. The Art Christopher family had a most enjoyable weekend. Sunday afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Dave Cartter and sons of Cin­ cinnati, Ohio, stopped by for a short visit. As pledge tra­ iner, he will be busy this week instructing new pledges to the Delta Phi Fraternity. Judy Rich's mom, Mrs. Mar­ ge Miller, visited with Judy, Dennis and the kids for the long weekend. Thursday of last week found Mr. and Mrs. Lester Colby and mother of Crystal Lake visiting with Ruby Shepard in her home. Lois Seaman of Daland, S.C., and Mrs. Buehla Dixon of Mar­ at ha, Minn., were also visitors with Ruby Shepard on Thurs­ day. The Rich Gillespie family had visitors from Salt Lake City, Utah, last Tuesday ev­ ening. Chris's brother, Brian, and his wife, Pat, were out for their summer visit. Chris' Mom and Dad of Round Lake and sister and her family of Lake Villa rounding out the group. They also celebrated the birthdays of Rich and Richie, Jr. The Larry Lehmkuhls spent the weekend boating and fishing on his parents lot along the mighty Mississippi. Other than a few slivers, bug bites, etc.-- fun was had by all. The Leonard Ackerman fam­ ily spent the weekend at Pren­ tice, Wis. They visited with Lenny's Dad, Charles Acker- man. Also heard that they took the scenic tour to get to a dance. That sounds funny, dan­ ces usually are at night (its dark then how could it have been a scenic tour? Guess if we want to know the answer we'll have to ask Phillys and Lenny.) The Clayton Bruces, Cindy and Russ McPhearson, Roger and Bonny Petska and family made the Jump River, Wis., scene. They went fishing in the Jump River and Clayton caught a sun fish, and would you be­ lieve it was the size of a pan without a head, (not saying what size pan). All kidding aside tho it was a good sized sun fish. Dinner guests of Mabel Haw­ ley one day last week were Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Anderson, El­ mer and Clare Kaindl and El- nor Carlson all of Chicago. Also Elnor Howe of Crystal Lake, and Marion Rienwal of McHenry were there and en­ joyed a delicious dinner. Visitors at the George Mad­ den home on Labor Day were John and Barbara Madden and family of Antioch and the Don­ ald Bays of Richmond. BUSY THREE 4-H CLUB The first meeting of the new year will be held Monday night, Sept. 13, 7:30 p.m. at the Ring- wood church. Lefs start the year out right with 100 percent attendance. DANCERS Friday evening Sept. 3 found Carl and Bonnie Betts, Dave and Patti Miller and Walt and Doris Low dancing at an inn near Randhurst. It was lovely out there in the beer garden and dancing around the pool but I got the feeling every so often that Walt, Dave and Carl would like to have given us girls a little shove into the pool. They're lots of fun, do come. CAMPERS Walt and Doris Low went camping over the long weekend at Eagle Cave, Wis. The Chec­ ker Board Squares were there as were a lot of square danc­ ers that danced in the cave. It rained real hard Saturday night and most of the night, but was real nice Sunday and Monday. (Good thing or they'd been home early Sunday instead of Mon­ day). The Charles Ackerman fa­ mily found camping this week­ end to their liking at Hultman Lake, Wis. While there they had visitors from Illinois, also an extra visitor in the form of a chipmunk. The girls found this to be fun feeding that extra vi­ sitor. The Walkington family spent the long weekend at Whitewater Lake, Wis. Althea, Paul, Lee ana Tom and Tom's fiancee, Maya Stauber, Saturday and Sunday Ida Mae, Clarence Ad­ ams and son, Doug, joined the family. A good time was had by all, hiking, swimming, boating, and eating. Thought they could get away but the Alvin Benoy family from McHenry found them in time for supper Sat­ urday night. They brought their own steaks too. BIRTHDAYS Birthday wishes go to Janice Skidmore and Don Etten on the same day Sept. 17.
