PAGE 12-PLAINDEALER-FRIDAY, OCTOBER 8, 1971 Ringwood News Christophers Tour Wisconsin House On Rock Whilpihe weather started out pretty wet in Ringwood last Sunday morning, it didn't discourage Art and Katy Christopher and David from starting out for Spring Green, Wis., to view this interesting structure. They stopped in Janesville and picked up Katy 's sister and brother-in-law, Mr and Mrs John Hamilton, to enjoy the drive with them On the drive to Spring Green, the sun came out and the fall colors in the woods were beautiful The house was built by Alex Jordan of Madison, Wis., atop a giant chimney-like rock. SO stories high Wherever he could, he used the rock as part Qf his house; as a wall, a stairstep, or part of a fireplace There is also a Gate House. Mill House and Streets of Yesterday and all through these buildinps are displays of antiques in cluding dolls, guns, metal toys, paper weights, mechanical banks and much more At the Mill House there is a pond and huge 14-foot waterwheel which still operates In the Mill House is the largest fireplace in the world which burns logs twelve feet long - a special chain pulley has been arranged to pull the logs from outside into the fireplace.
