HELPING PAWS by Carol Wilyat Pictured this week is "Tiger" our sweet little black tiger striped male kitty. He was found on a doorstep and we have been lovin' him up since. He is up for adoption at 459-0511. These are the pets up for adoption this week for a donation: Listed at 459-0511 is a 9- month-old male tri-color AKC registered Bassett Hound, housebroken, has all shots, so good with kids, still young enough to be a good hunter. Listed at 459-0511 are seven 5'2-week-old darling kittens; a variety of colors. These are living outside under cover now and need homes badly. At 385-8615 are six five-week- old part German Shepherd puppies; 3 male, 3 female, short hair. Also at this number is the 2-year-old mother, small for a Shepherd. At 459-1849 is a 3-year-old German Shepherd named "Caesar", black, housebroken, gentle but needs to be the only dog in family. In Marengo at 568-7668 is a darling 6-month-old female Scotty-Poodle, mostly buff- colored with a little black on her back and ears. At 385-2982 is an 11-week-old Beagle-Collie mix female, black tan and white in color, cute as can be. At 385-1357 is a 17-month-old spayed female Beagle AKC registered, housebroken, used to children and loves attention. In Marengo at 568-8224 is a 2'2-month-old female part Beagle, dark with brown and white candy stripe on paws, so friendly. We have placed Patches, the calico kitty we had for so long. Now we hope someone will take notice of Katy, an 11-week-old female tiger stripe with white legs. She was found in the bushes, so hungry and frightened; she's gained trust in people now but is still afraid of the outdoors. She has had a permanent distemper shot and can be found at 459-9426 along with an 11-week-old female semi-long haired, black and brown swirl patterned kitty; an 11-week-old female kitty that looks like Katy and also a female black and white kitty that is very good around children, even lets them lug her around, also an excellent mouser. Also at 459-9426 is a 2-year-old male German Shepherd, silver, beige and black. This Shepherd was found on Valley View road and is available if not claimed. "Daisy May", a lV2-year-old uugs. At 45 year-ol Elkhoi female Beagle is up for adoption at 459-9426. "Vixen" a female part toy Collie, fox color with white toes and white and black tail tip, medium small, short and very slender is also being taken care of at 459-9426. -> At 459-9426 are two female 11- week-old toy Fox Terrier- Border Collie puppies, so cute and fat, tri-colored. At 385-3394 are five young kittens, 2 white with gold and 3 all gold, have had first distemper shot. At 639-4644 is a 5-year-old male German Shepherd, light tan with black saddle, housebroken. In Algonquin at 658-7504 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. (works nights) a 9-month-old female part Collie, predominantly black with tan and cream, name4s "Honey", housebroken, very dainty. At 459-9955 after 3 p.m., (ask for Dave) are 5 six-week-old puppies, will be medium sized dogs. 159-0376 after 5 p.m. is a 1- f-old male, part Norwegian lkhound-German Shepherd, all shots, housebroken, very good disposition; name is "Ivan." At 459-7034 is a 2>/2-year-old spayed female Collie, sable and white and so good with kids; also, her son, a 1 V2-year-old male half Collie, extremely affectionate. At 459-3593 is an all black Labrador-Shepherd, house- broken, has had all shots, good with kids and still a good watchdog. In Woodstock at 338-3925 is a 3-or 4-month-old female Ger­ man Shepherd, brown and black, smaller than Shepherd, and good with kids. At 459-5184 are 4 five-week- old fluffy long haired kittens. At 459-8163 is a 1-year-old tortoise shell female cat that loves to sit in your lap! Stray animals are available at most times at the Woodstock Veterinary hospital, 338-0132. Found At 459-0989, an 11-week-old male all black angora type kitten was found - available if not claimed. At 459-6393, a full grown black cat, male with white chest and white paws. Law and Leonard Aekman, individually, and doing business as Len and Em's Tavern In County I, the complaint charges that on Oct. 13, 1970, on Route 47 near its intersection with Route 176, Daniel J Law "did operate a motor vehicle in a careless and reckless manner causing it to collide with a car being operated by Blume". As a result of the accident, Blume sustained serious injuries. The plaintiff asks judgment against Law for $40,000. In Count II, Blume asks judgment against Leonard Ack man, individually and doing business as Len and Em's Tavern , damages in the sum of $15,000. The Department of Revenue of the State of Illinois filed three complaints in Circuit court Oct. 1, seeking delinquent tax monies for "Sales Tax on Retailers' Occupation Tax Act". DON PEASLEY PHOTO Steve Spencer Admitted Into Purdue Gimlet Steve Spencer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Spencer of rural McHenry, was among forty-two Purdue university seniors who were taken as active members into Gimlet, an honorary ser­ vice society for fraternity men. Membership in Gimlet is based on service to a campus activity, such as serving as an organization's board member or winning an athletic letter. Howard Voeltz doing business as Millie's Coffee Shop, $1,368.76; and Arthur J. Keevil, Jr., doing business as Art's Lakeland Park "66" Service. $6,235.65. Purpose of the organization is to provide service to the campus and community. Steve is a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity. ISSUE NEW STAMP Thomas M. Murray, founder- president of the Independent Postal System of America, made public this week the design of the first stamp to be issued by the independent postal service. The total design illustrates the System's acronym, IPSA, in italicized lower case together with the particular denomination in a half disc in the right segment. The stamps come in a series of color combinations in sheets of the following denominations; one cent, five cents, ten cents, twenty-five cents and fifty cents. The stamps "will be initially issued Nov. 15 at the IPSA Chicago headquarters, 1635 Tonne Road in Elk Grove Village. They will be simultaneously distributed wherever IPSA is located throughout the country. ON PROBATION Judge William M Carroll presided in Circuit court last week and handed down the following sentences: Douglas L. Koppen, McHenry, placed on probation for three years on a charge of aggravated incest; Thomas Ziesk, 2616 W. Emerald court, McHenry and Lon David Smith and Bruce W. Potratz, formerly of McHenry, each placed on probation for three years and fined $100 and costs on charges of sale of narcotics. REALTORS HONORED - Three real estate salesmen of McHenry county have been honored by the Illinois Association of Real Estate Boards with membership in the state organization's exclusive Million Dollar club. The awards were made at the IAERB's annual convention held Oct. 6-8, at the Marriott Motor hotel near O'Hare field. Charles F. Froula Jr., of McHenry Realty, center was named to the club for the first time; Joseph P. Sullivan, of T P. Mathews Realtors, Wonder Lake, right, won the award for the second time; and Horace R. Wagner G.R.I., also of the Mathews firm, was named a life member, as it was the third successive year that he had been honored.
