Lakemoor-Lilymoor Alma Hueckstaedt 385-5689 Firemen Of Station 3 Hold Open House Station 3, of the McHenry Township Fire Protection District held open house on Sunday, Oct. 10. The fire fighting equipment is housed in a beautiful new building, it has a well equipped kitchen, and there is a meeting room also. The station has in its possession a resuscitator that had been donated by one organization. The flag and flagpole were donated by another. The most impressive part of the program was the raising of the flag and then watch it wave in the breeze. There was a demonstration on putting out a fire using two different types of ex­ tinguishers. When the program was over the guests were invited back into the station to have coffee and cake, I personally was disap- West Campus Will Present Comedy In Fall This year McHenry high school, West campus, has decided on "Don't Drink The Water" by Woody Allen as its opening play of the 1971-1972 school year. A two-act comedy, to be presented Nov. 12, 13, and 14 in the West campus auditorium at 8 p.m., "Don't Drink The Water" is proving to be a successful production. Tom Broman stars as Walter Hollander, a caterer from Newark, New Jersey. He, his wife. Marion, played by Nancy VanKanegan, and Susan, portrayed by Priscilla Fossum, travel to a Communist country behind the Iron Curtain and accidentally are accused of being American spies. Taking refuge in the American Em­ bassy, they encounter a series of unexpected mishaps. VISITORS Mr. and Mrs. Bill Gibson formerly of Lake moor, now residents of Bellwood-, 111., visited the Hyatt family last week. The Hyatts were very glad to see them. See you next week. Young People From Area In Student Teaching A total of 486 education students at Southern Illinois university at Carbondale are engaged in student teaching in the schools of Southern Illinois, Chicago and some of the suburbs. Student teachers from this area and their assigned schools are as follows: Lynda Geweke of 314 S. Fisher road, Brush school in Carbondale; Rolf Schilling of 4414 Sussex, Lin­ coln Junior high school in Carbondale; Patrick Wirtz of 1508 N. Freund, Mount Vernon high school; Jean Zaboth of 1010 Hayden drive, Herrin high school; and Robert Zaboth of 1010 Hayden drive, Mur- physboro high school. One quarter of student teaching in an actual classroom situation is a degree requirement in education at SIU. Jose Greco Recital At County College Oct. 30 Mark Oct. 30 at 8 p.m. in the Crystal Lake high school auditorium as a very special occasion. Goodwill To Visit Local Area Oct. 22 The Goodwill Industries truck will be in McHenry and Wonder Lake, Friday, Oct. 22, to collect clothing, shoes, housewares, appliances and furniture for the rehabilitation of handicapped people, ac­ cording to Mrs. Nick (Agnes T.) Adams. Mrs. Adams is the Goodwill representative for this area and the telephone number is 385- 0863.
