PLAINDEALER PHOTO Burglaries, Thefts And Vandalism Investigated When John Scott of 1622 Route 12, Spring Groves returned home from work last Friday evening, he discovered the home had been entered and the following items were taken from the premises; a color TV, a sunburst clock, three wrist watches, an unknown amount of silver coins, a 19 inch por­ table TV, a portable tape recorder and cassett, a por­ table radio, several foreign coins, an electric saw, a clock radio with lamp, a new adding machine, several articles of clothing, tools, credit cards and other personal identification. The offenders gained entrance to a porch, where they entered through a bathroom window. Investigation is continuing. County authorities in­ vestigated an attempted burglary at the Liquor Mart, 2314 W. Route 120, McHenry, last Sunday. The attempt was discovered when store owners checked what they believed was a malfunction of the alarm after it began ringing at 2 o'clock Sunday morning. Pry marks were found on the front door but the offenders were apparently frightened away. County authorities are in­ vestigating the theft of an auto reported by Kenneth Adams of 405 Lincoln road, McHenry. It had been taken to Adams Auto Body, 2902 W. Route 120, for repairs Oct. 30. Nov. 1, it was discovered the auto had been taken from the parking lot of the shop. The car was described as a 1961 green evy 4-door with Illinois prates KT7290. Stephen Wilkey of 318 N. Country Club drive, McHenry, reported that sometime within the last week, his boat was taken from the dock at his residence. The craft was found later, having drifted down stream. However, a 9^- horsepower, 1971 model motor was missing from the boat. George Noller of 206 W. Sunnyside drive, McHenry, told deputies that sometime Monday night, two tires and rims were taken from the trunk of his auto. A battery was also stolen from his residence last week. Unknown persons ripped the convertible top of an auto owned by William Kunz of 1216 N. River road, McHenry, sometime Sunday night. A tool box was taken from the auto. Steven Dana of 8106 Elm- wood drive, Wonder Lake, reported that vandals had damaged his home recently. Damaged were three window shutters, basement trap door, a well pit cover, a septic tank cover, siding on his house and an electric meter. Eggs were thrown at the home. Ticket Driver After Two-Car Crash Monday Cassandra Rhode of 1115 W. Lincoln road, McHenry, was ticketed by city police for no valid driver's license following a two-car accident at the McHenry Market Place Monday afternoon about 1 o'clock. Dorothy J. Shepherd of 816 Hartrey, Evanston, said that when she returned to her car, a woman told her she had seen a driver back into her auto. The driver then left. The license number of the auto was ob­ tained by the witness and the other driver was located. Mrs. Rhode told police she was backing up when she made contact to the rear of the Shepherd auto. She waited for awhile and then left Deaths NORA AMORE Mrs. Nora Amore, 85, of 4202 John Street, Solon Mills, for­ merly of Chicago, died Wed­ nesday morning, Nov. 8, in the Woodstock Residence following a long illness. Mrs. Amore was born Aug. 19,1886, in Winnemac, Ind. She had resided in this area for nine years. The deceased was a member of the Ladies of Isabella, Regina council, a charter member of the Council of Catholic Women, Chicago, and belonged to the Tabernacle of Cincture society of St. Sylvester's church, Chicago, which she served as president. Her husband, Timothy, died in 1960. She leaves one daughter, Mrs. Ray (Alice) Michaelsen of Chicago; two sons, Owen of Ingleside and Robert of Solon Mills; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters and one brother. The body will rest at the Ehorn, Adams and Haase funeral home, Richmond, after 2 o'clock Friday afternoon, and rosary will be recited at 8 in the evening. An 11 o'clock Mass will be offered Saturday morning in St. Peter's Catholic church, Spring Grove, with burial in St. Joseph's cemetery, River Grove. Masses would be appreciated.
