The U.S. Department of Agriculture recently conducted a nationwide survey on "Homemakers' Opinions About Selected Citrus Fruits and Products." And to nobody's surprise, orange juice is popular with almost everyone. More than 7 in 10 homemakers interviewed served orange juice at least once a week. Homemakers were asked to rate three forms of orange juice: fresh home-squeezed, frozen concentrate and canned. They also rated three drink products. The fnesh variety rated tops on taste, flavor and nutritional value. Negative reactions to fresh orange juice centered on convergence, ease of storage and cast. Frozen concentrate scored best in cost and did well in most rather categories. Canned juice was considered mos' convenient, but homJ&makers rated it low on tast#>. The orange drinks were considered comparable to canned juice in all selection categories except storage. H6memakers rated orange drink products easier to store than fresh and canned juice and qqual to frozen concentrate. They leave crusts which take about a week to fall off. Discomfort can be relieved by campho- i c e m e n t h o l o r s p i r i t s o f camphor. In some few cases, cold sores are so recurrent and numerous that drastic treat ment is needed. A doctor should be consulted and given a background picture of the patient's trouble with cold sores. He might advise a series of small-pox vac cinations. Stay away from the use of m a k e - u p o n t h e a f f e c t e d area. I OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUOOOOPOOOOOaOPOOO Are Silver Dollars Back? No, Not Really! Assistant cashier Donald Wattles who is in charge of the vaults at the McHenry State Bank is shown with a shipment of new dollar coins. "Don explained that the new Eisenhower Clad dollar replaces the silver dollar that was last minted in 1935. The new coin contains no silver, but is made up of a copper-nickel layer surrounding a copper center. CALL DON AT 385-1040, EXTENSION 57 if you need a few silver dollars Eisenhower Clad dollars for a special occasion. The coins are in rather short supply at present, but there should be an ample supply as Congress has authorized the minting of three hundred million coins. The Chicago Federal Reserve Bank reports shipping five million of the new coins to member banks during the first two weeks of November. The new dollars are presently being distributed to banks on an allotment basis. It is expected to be some time before enough coins are minted to meet the current demand.
