MCC After- Game Dance Nov. 24 Following the first con­ ference basketball game on Wednesday, Nov. 24 against Sauk Valley, the McHenry County College Student Government is sponsoring an after-game dance. The game is set for 7:30 p.m. in the Crystal Lake high school gym. The dance will be held from 9:30 to 12:30' in the MCC Union. Marian GAA Calendar Of Under the enthusiastic- leadership of Sherry Carlson, Advisor, the Marian Central Girls' Athletic Association is bi'sily planning many events for the coming year. The girls are currently meeting twice a week during the activity period during which time they Plans Events are earning the necessary points for the GAA award through participation. The girls enjoyed a big "splash" on November 8 when I hey went swimming at the Woodstock high school pool. The girls played many games, including water polo, and greatly enjoyed the company of their friends. The girls who attended were also awarded nine points. Archery was the first sport of the school year for the GAA and that was followed by a unit of touch football. During the school's activity period, line soccer and relays are the order of the day. Volleyball and gymnastics are next on the calendar of GAA activities. Many extra-class activities are planned and they include the following: Mother-daughter bowling (Jan. 16), Student- Faculty game (March 15), "Nite-In" (March 24), Father- Daughter Play Day (April 23), and GAA Banquet (May 10). Serving GAA as president for the 1971-'72 school year is Patti Amore from Solon Mills. Backing up Pat as officers are Marge Boarini (Vice- President), Jan Dwyer (Treasurer), Chris Thelen (Secretary), and Julie West- phal (Point Chairman). Mike's highlights were on both offense and defense as he had S solo tackles, H initials, K assists and 2 fumble recoveries. On offense Mike carried 74 times for 305 yards, 3 • TDs and also returned punts. Mike's best games were against Libertyville and Zion-Benton. John's record as a defensive player speaks for itself. In the tackle department John had 15 solos, 31 initials and 15 assists. John also intercepted 2 passes and recovered a fumble. His best games were against Dundee and North Chicago. John, having the fewest number of points among the 25 member team, helped lead McHenry to a 15-1 season. Highlights of the past season were his first place finishes against Wheeling, Lake Zurich, Woodstock, Crown, Grant, North Chicago, Barrington and Grayslake. When John failed to cross the finish line first, he captured second against Libertyville, Zion-Benton, Elgin and Antioch. John is president of the "M" club and an Illinois State Scholar.
