So it was with the annual Christmas party given by The Ladies of the Lake. This party was somewhat of a gourmet's delight. The dinner was planned and prepared by Mrs. Mary Kantoiski. Here are just a few of the delicious food items served. Rock cornish-hens, baked potatoes, green bearis, gelatin molds, two kinds of punch and of course coffee. We are no longer so sure we have all the answers. After realizing the ravages of man's hand upon the earth, we may again try to bring our efforts into greater harmony with those of the Divine Creator. The year may now have arrived when people genuinely are ready to 'Put Christ back into Christmas'. Sincerely, PETER M.JUSTEN & SON FUNERAL HOME McHenry, Illinois . t 385-0063 bag. The delightful evening was completed with lots of con versation, and no doubt, full but happy tummies. Verbal orchids to Mary Kantorski and to Mrs. Irene Groh, president of the organization. CHATTER O u t d o o r C h r i s t m a s decorations are a grand sight to behold throughout the village. Thp Morris home is brilliant with th? spirit of the holiday as is the Frost. Mrs. Florence Larson's home is a delight, the yard of the Mark Grims will be sure to delight both the young and the young at heart. So much imagination and skill have been put into these displays. The Levesque home is decorated in a style that shows both of these attributes. The home of the Leo Sales is decorated beautifully, cheerful colored lights give out the feeling of warmth, and holiday cheer. The yard of the Cossi home looks as warm and cheerful as can be. Santa beckons a welcome on the door of the Kommers. The outdoor Santa in the yard of the Kurths is a cheerie fellow, he seems to be waiting for his time to say ho, ho, ho. The Brastek and the Reeds decorations spell out holiday cheer. Today (Wednesday Dec. 15) is so windy and rainy, I for one hope we get some® snow for Christmas, but snow or not, I wish all readers a very Merry Christmas. CANDYSALE This is the seventh'year that the Lake Region YMCA has raised money for the World Service program by selling mints. The goal for 1971 is $1,200. More than 100 Lake Region YMCA members are selling chocolate covered thin "Ipihts during the entire month of December in Algonquin, Cary, Crystal Lake, Fox River Grove, Huntley, Island Lake, Lake-in-the-Hills, Lakemoor, Lake wood, McHenry, Oakwood Hills, Ridgefield, Wonder Lake and Woodstock. Last year fourteen in dividuals, families, or "Y" groups earned trophies for selling 100 boxes of mints. Salesmen also receive in centive awards for every 12 boxes of candy that they sell. Many different World Service ? projects are sponsored by the International Committee of YMCA^s,,Samples of projects now supported ina the 39 countries receiving World Service funds are job training, literacy courses for youth and adults, day care centers, and training in self care. While populations explode and human needs multiply and crises continue to rend cities and nations around the world, the need for YMCA's and for YMCA World Service grows. Your support is given when you purchase the mints from youth salesmen- It costs New York City about $200,000 to clean up each inch of snowfall, and, many winters, they get 25 inches of the stuff 0N^9 TOBy OPTOMETRIST Dr. John F.Kelly At 1224 N.
