Some needy little children may have their doubts. There is so much pain and suffering in the world. Maybe you should let the professional men and women take care of Warriors havn't had many victories come their way they have carried every opponent to the last two or three matches before a victory could be assured. This has been the case for the Warriors in the last two weeks. In the last 3 of 4 matches the Warriors have taken their opponents to the last match of the evening only to lose by one decision. The Grapplers have lost only by scores of 27-21 twice and 24-21 this past weekend against Antioch. Wrestling fans know that those point spreads are very close and that a vic tory in any one weight class could change the outcome of the match. Several Warriors are en joying excellent seasons so far this year. John Bassi, Randy Rodiek, both Seniors are having good seasons respec tively. Juniors Ray Rivera and Phil Mowrer have also been bright spots in the Warrior picture. Rick Rupp and Steve Van Kanegan should also receive praise for their fine efforts in the last few matches. Finally Senior Jocko Worm should be mentioned as his leadership on the mat has shown as he has won his last 4 matches. The Warriors travel to Rock ford to wrestle in the Rockford Holiday tournament on Dec. 22, 23, at West High School. The Frosh Warriors will wrestle at Grayslake in that school's holiday tourney today Dec. 22 Scots Drop Pair Of Games By Identical Scores the pains. You take care of the hurts. The Fighting Scots of McHenry County College lost 2 basketball games this past week by identical scores. On Tuesday evening Mayfair College of Chicago was the unhospitable host as they dealt out a 90 to 84 defeat. Two nights later it was Morton of Cicero who topped the local crew by the same count. The Mayfair game found McHenry trailing 45 to 38 at halftime. They fought back to take the lead 64 to 63 but couldn't maintain it. Tom Thomas and Mark Hayes led the late attack as the Scots were 2 points down going into the last minute. The Scots failed to tally again, while Mayfair added two more field goals, one with 17 seconds remaining and the other at the final buzzer. The Morton game found the Scots blazing away the first half. They connected on their first four shots to take an 8 to 0 lead. By halftime it was McHenry 49, Morton 38 as the Scots hit on 23 of 35 attempts. The second half the roof fell in on McHenry. PLAINDEALER PHOTO BY Fred Kusch At the beginning of the season it was noted by this reporter that the Wrestling Warriors would have a rough road to hold in the early season because of their youth and inexperience on the varsity level. That prediction has held true. It was also noted that the Warriors would be a scrapping, hard working team that would provide their followers a lot of excitement. That statement is also true.
