This meeting was the annual Christmas party for the pack. After the pledge of allegiance to the flag, the festivities began as the boys decorated a Christmas tree. Each den made ornaments and brought them to the meeting. The decorated tree was given to the Wood stock Children's Home. , Each den put on a skit about Christmas in other countries. Den 4 told about the customs of Mexico. They broke a pinata and sang Jingle Bells in Spanish. Switzerland was the theme of the skit performed by Den 3. They told how layers of an onion are used to fortell the weather for the coming year by families in Switzerland. Den 2 had as their subject, Italy. It was learned that Christmas is a very religious celebration in Italy. Den 1 told about the customs of France. The children of France say a special prayer before Santa comes. The boys in Den 1 were dressed as angels. Cubmaster Ray Jensen presented awards to several boys. Steve Parisi was very happy to receive a silver arrow. It takes a lot of work to earn this award. Toni Parisi has also been very busy and has finished his Wolf Book. He received a Wolf badge and pin. Randy Meyers and Mark Meyers now have their Bobcat pins. One year pins were given to Randy Wright, George Lauer and Ken Lauer. Steve Parisi and Jim Fouts are going into Webelos. The Webelo scarves were presented to them in a special ceremony Thursday evening. Den 4 won the award for giving the best impression during inspection. The at tendance award went to Den 3. Mr. Jensen led the group in singing many Christmas carols, after which the kids welcomed none other than Santa Claus himself. Each child received a gift from Santa, and Santa passed out the grab bag gifts brought by the boys. It was a memorable evening for everyone. CUB SCHOUT PACK 351 Cub Scout Pack 351 will have its pack meeting Thursday, Dec. 30. The meeting will take place at St. Patrick's church hall. All the boys are to check in with Mr. Creutz, before the meeting begins. NEW ARRIVAL Carol and Charles Walsh are the proud parents of a brand new baby boy. Christopher Dean Walsh made his entrance into the world, Dec. 10. He tipped the scales at 8 lbs., 14 ozs. Christopher will be welcomed home by his five year old brother, Buddy. The proud grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Edward Walsh of Round Lake and Mr. and Mrs. John Longly of McHenry. BIRTHDAY GREETINGS A very happy birthday wish goes to Nedra Eckhart who celebrates on Dec. 23. Laurie Perry and Renee Mercure will light five candles; also on Dec. 23. Tom Bockman's special day is Dec. 24. Christmas Day is Pat Spoto's birthday. Steve Parisi and Gina Rose Visconti share Dec. 26 as their special day. Steve will be 10 years old and Gina will celebrate her very first birthday. On Dec. 27. Larry Lamburg will add another candle. Dec. 28 is a very popular day for birthdays. Pre-Holiday Guests Visit In Many Homes Mr. and Mrs. Walter Kuhrt of Castle Rock, Colo., and Grandma Bigger of Rockwell City, Iowa,*have been visiting with the Jack Kuhrts and getting acquainted with Jodie's litUe sister, Kimberly. Among the visitors who have been calling at the Brennan Hepburn home are Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Korwicki, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Soddy and Mrs. Hazel Bietz of Kenosha; Mr. and Mrs. Johnson of Wheaton; and Mr. and Mrs. Kentz of Racine. CHURCH ACTIVITIES It was a very busy and happy time last weekend for U.M.Y.F. members, Sunday School children and parents of Ringwood church. The UMYF had their chili supper Saturday night and while the attendance wasn't as large as they had hoped for, the advance ticket sale was quite successful. They thank everyone who donated food and time to help them out in this venture. The Christmas program was a real joy with the pre schoolers and primary children performing as only they can with their unscheduled com ments. The Junior and Senior high school young folks carried off their part of the program, telling of the Christmas story as written in the Bible, with real dignity. They are all to be congratulated. The coffee hour following the program was a time of real fellowship. Everyone had an opportunity to greet and visit with old friends and to jjwiet and get acquainted with someiolks who are rather new to our church community. We hope to be able to greet you all again at the Christmas Eve services to be held at the Mount Hope Methodist Church tonight at 7:30. A combined parish choir will furnish the music. Rev. and Mrs. Walker were very busy hosts at the open house in their home Sunday afternoon. Their children and members of the Spring Grove church assisted them in making this a most enjoyable afternoon. CANASTACLUB Bob and Sue Low of McHenry hosted the Canasta Club last Saturday night with high scores going to Shirley Cristy and Alvin Benoy. HOLIDAY FESTIVITIES Bud and Barb Byron en tertained friends and neighbors at their annual pre-Christmas party last Saturday night. Some of us couldn't make it and we understand we missed a real good time. Bonnie and Carl Betts held open house last Sunday evening for friends and neighbors. Dwyer, mid- western regional director of the Small Business administration, has announced the schedule of visits by an SBA circuit rider to Rockford for the firsts six months of 1972. According to Dwyer, the circuit rider's visits will resume Monday, Jan. 3. Other visits, he said, will be made Feb. 7, March 6, April 3, May 1, June 5, and, subsequently, on the first Monday of every month. While in Rockford, Dwyer added, the circuit rider headquarters in the offices of that city's Chamber of Com merce, 813 E. State street. According to the director, further information about the circuit ride may be obtained by calling the Chamber at 815-968- 5855. Dwyer said the Rockford circuit rider visit might be of particular interest to residents of the following counties: W i n n e b a g o , S t e p h e n s o n , Boone, DeKalb, Kane, Ogle, Lee and McHenry.
