Per share earnings reached 50 cents Here & There In BUSINESS McHenry Man On Great Southwest Telephone BodfnJ , Ed Manson of 4614 Sussex drive, McHenry, was recently elected to a most interesting position. Mr. Manson is senior vice-president-of Duff and Phelps, Inc. of Chicago, an internationally knowjQ firm of public utility financial and management consultants. At a stockholders' meeting held in Dallas, Texas, Dec. 17, * before accounting for dilution attributable to the company's convertible debenture. This is an increase of 28 per cent from the 39 cents per share earnings for 1970. After giving effect to dilution, earnings are 48 cents per share, an increase of 23 per cent from the 1970 figure of 39 cents per share. Brake Parts company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Echlin, is located at 1600 North Industrial Drive, McHenry, and employs nearly 500 people. The Great Southwest Telephone corporation, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Navajo Communications company, provides telephone and radio communications „ service throughout the 25,000 square mile Navajo Indian reservation in Arizona, New Mexico and Utah. In addition, through other subsidiaries,, telephone service is provided in many areas in the state of Texas. Regional Plan CommissionSets Schedule In '72 The McHenry County Regional Planning com­ mission, at its regular December, 1971, meeting held at the commission's office, 208- 210 So. Throop street, Wood­ stock, approved a schedule of meetings for the calendar year 1972. All meetings will be held in the commission's office and will convene at 1:30 p.m. The dates are Jan. 27, Feb. 24, March 23, April 27, May 25, June 22, July 17, Aug. 24, Sept. 28, Oct. 26, Nov. 16 and Dec. 14. Reservations For Livestock Group Accepted Reservations for the 11th annual meeting of the McHenry County Livestock Feeders association are being accepted, Paul Kruse, president, Wooodstock, has announced. The annual meeting will be held at the Timbers, starting at 7:30 p.m., Thursday night, Jan. 13. Bob Gilmore, director of the National Livestock Feed­ ers association, will discuss handling and con­ ditioning cattle. Reservations should be made by contacting either Louise Engelbrecht, Farm Adviser; Paul Kruse, Woodstock; Homer White, Antioch; Dan Walters, Hebron, or Charles Schultz, Algonquin. TAX GUIDE Free copies of the 1972 Farmers' Income Tax Guide are available to McHenry county farmers from their county agricultural Extension adviser. The guide explains in everyday language how to prepare and file income tax returns. It also has illustrated examples which apply to ac- tural farming situations and sample returns keyed to text explanations. STUDY ACTION LINE - The League of Women Voters of Woodstock-McHenry presents a vignette as members discuss ideas for study and action items to be determined at the national convention next spring.
