Changes In Law Makes Possible More Bingo Bingo enthusiasts were reminded this week about three changes in the law which broaden the opportunity to conduct the game. According to Mrs. Jeannette Mullen, bingo coordinator for the Illinois Department of Revenue, "The new provision about which we have received the most comment concerns 'special' games." Under the bingo law amendment, effective Dec. 20, 1971, licensed bingo operators may conduct five "special" games in addition to 20 regular games. The total number of games is limited to 25 on any day. The maximum price for a "special" game card is 50 cents, and all special cards are valid for the five games. The charge for regular game cards may not exceed $1, and they are valid for all 20 regular games. Qualified organizations not presently licensed to conduct bingo may, under the new law, obtain a "limited license." The limited license allows bingo games to be conducted on two separate occasions a year. Each occasion is limited to five consecutive days. The fee for the limited license is $50 per year. Expiration date for this license is June 30. Qualified organizations in clude not-for-profit charitable, religious, educational, fraternal, labor or veterans Claims may be filed within 7 months from the date of issuance of Letters of office and that any claim not filed within that period is barred as to the estate which is inventoried within that period. Claims against said estate should be filed in the Probate office of the Clerk of said Court, County Court House, Wood stock, Illinois, and copies thereof mailed or delivered to said legal representative and to s a i d a t t o r n e y . However, it must be affiliated with and chartered by a national organization which meets the five-year requirement. Additional information may be obtained by writing to BINGO.
