PLAINDEALER PHOTO Jack Muffley, fund raising committee chairman for the McHenry Area Rescue Squad, announced this week that an all-out effort will begin im mediately to raise the necessary operating funds for the newly formed squad. A thermometer will be placed in a conspicuous area of town to indicate progress. There are presently seventeen men in the«quad and all are deeply involved in first aid and rescue training. The basic first aid course will be completed within two weeks, with the advanced course beginning immediately af terward. Rescue training supplied by the Johnsburg Rescue Squad will form a parT of the advanced course. Community support for the group has been shown on numerous occasions. The squad will be housed in a garage facility below City Wide Carpet on west Elm street. The fund raising committee, consisting of members of the Rotary, Kiwanis, Lions and the Jaycees, announced that, a direct mailing will be made to each household in the area, requesting support. A goal of $15,000 has been set which will finance the purchase of a van type vehicle, equipment and insurance. Anyone who wishes to make a donation before the letters are mailed should send it to the McHenry State Bank or the First National Bank. Please mark the envelope "Rescue Squad Fund". ARE YOU 21 TO 36?
