The hell of it is, the present boss is a Cub fan. We have many crosses to bear. Might as well suggest that Ye Olde Plaindealer send us to cover the Democratic Con vention. When snowmobilers com plain about the lack of snow, we tell 'em to wait a while - we aren't taking our snow tires off the buggy. How would it be to reverse the order in this great country of ours9 Let the editorial writers run the country and the office holders write the criticisms. The gal in our life has made all kinds of fun about our sending in those numbers where we might win a hundred thousand dollars or something. On Wednesday we won the something--a little gold-plated leaf to pin on our lapel. Now she says we should have saved the 8 cents postage and bought the pin from Harry Dean. Some people know how to hurt a guy. Kind of gave up on the bowling scores of our gals. So many good ones. But look at this one: Cathy Boro, 206-575. That's a lot of timber. The note says our gift was for sixth place. Glad we weren't sixteenth. Our Warrior varsity basketball players had 27 fouls called on them in the Barrington game. If we r e m e m b e r c o r r e c t l y , Barrington scored 22 points on free throws. That did it. That same gal in our life decided we should lose weight so this morning she served us fruit, bacon and eggs, and corn bread for breakfast. We're off to a great start. Putting our bird food out has again brought a large flock of sparrows to our back yard. Why don't they go south? System Stolen At St. Peter's Church Deputies were called td in vestigate a burglary at St. Peter's Catholic church, 2206 Main street, Spring Grove, which apparently occurred sometime Monday night. Entry was made by breaking the glass in a north door which allowed the offender to reach inside and release the lock. Two candles missing from the vestibule may have been used for illumination by the offenders. Also taken were a public address system and an amplifier. One fellow who is taking off weight is Chief Espey. (You must have noticed). His wife, Marie, has been in the Harvard hospital for two weeks. (There seems to be some evidence that she is a good cook). The Crystal Lake Tigers come to the Warrior camp this (Friday) night. This game we must not lose. We won't. Walsh, City Clerk (Pub. Jan. 21,26,1972) V PRAZAK GRABS REBOUND - The McHenry High Varsity suf fered its first conference loss of the season last Friday night at the hands of a highly rated North Chicago team. The Warriors pushed the Jayhawks hard and led at various times during the game. A full court press by McHenry netted a number of baskets but the rebounding strength of North Chicago proved to be too much for McHenry. As the gun sounded, McHenry was behind only 3 points. < PLAINDEALER PHOTO) M c H E N R Y , I I I 33S-0M4 OWNE R)X Lake 587-2612 Start 1:30 Out 4:05 Admission Only .75 CHiLDRENS MATiNEES 15 OH LY 2 FfET 10 ̂ ' SAT. & SUN. lit- • «' • - » fn *• rws sprit UMtga to the wikkmess and his heart METRO GOLDWYN MAYER t08 Bilksgtl! presents ANSCO DONNA CORCORAN WARD BOND "-RANCES DEE ANO GYPSY Plus Co-Feature "Davy Crockett, Indian Scout" Sport Quiz Question: Recent Hall of Fame inductee, Early Winn, was the Cy Young winner in 1959, a banner year for Chicago fans.
