College Holds Instructional 3-Day Workshop There was a three day In structional Workshop at McHenry County college Jan. 24, 25 and 26. During this period, each instructor scheduled three visitations to schools and businesses in this community college district. The instructors (1) conducted discussions with high school, junior high and elementary school teachers and ad ministrators, and they (2) conducted discussions with individual businessmen, em ployees, supervisors and managers. In conducting these visitations, the instructional staff of MCC expects to learn a great deal about the com munity and th| needs of the people. The ma for objectives of the visitations are (1) to get the message out regarding what MCC has to offer the people and (2) to get ideas about what additional courses the people want. Dr. Marvin Lieske, Dean of Instruction, states: "This is only the beginning of a more formal program to provide opportunities for the in structional staff at McHenry County college to talk with all the people of the college's service area." Form Nominating Committee For General Meeting On Sunday, April 9, there will be a general meeting of the Lakeland Park Property Owner's Association. MCC Offers Real Estate Appraisal Course A Real Estate Appraisal course has been scheduled by McHenry County college for its spring semester. The class will be held Wednesday evenings from 7 to 10 p.m., beginning Feb. 2, in Room A-214 at the Crystal Lake campus (IIT building), 6200 Northwest high way, Crystal Lake. The course will be taught by Thomas J. Peters, M.A.I., S.R.A., of Crystal Lake. Mr. Peters' twelve years ex perience as a real estate ap praiser and consultant includes seven years in the northeastern Illinois area. He has done work for both private clients and governmental levels. His ex perience has taken him to fourteen states. Peters explains that this course will consist of a broad overview of many aspects of appraisal and will concentrate on single family dwellings. He stated that it is a good in troduction to appraisal for prospective real estate salesmen and could serve as an excellent introduction to the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisal's formal four course sequence leading to the M.A.I, designation. Registration is in progress at the college's Crystal Lake campus between the hours of 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday. They say that knowledge is power.
