This list is believed to be the most authentic compiled to date giving the serviceman's address and branch of service with which he fought. McHenry county lost almost 150 men during the war not including many who formerly made their home here or who had close contact because of families residing here. Plaindealer employees and a multitude of friends were shocked and saddened this Thursday morning March 13 to learn of the death of Charles F. Renich, 75 years old. He purchased the McHenry Plaindealer from Frank Schreiner on July 1, 1925 and had served as its owner and publisher since that time. De Rouche of Pistakee Bay counts Tuesday, March 13, among his very lucky days. On that day he was ap­ proaching the Chicago and Northwestern railroad tracks on Main street driving west when he saw the commuter train only a few feet away. He realized he would be unable to stop in time because of slippery road conditions, so he stepped on the gas pedal and managed to get almost across before the train struck the rear two feet of the auto. More than 700 teachers and Scouts Plan 18th Annual Grant Pilgrimage Scouts planning on attending the sesquicentennial year, U.S. Grant Boy Scout Pilgrimage, April 28, 29 and 30, in Galena, 111., must get their Reservations in soon. Word from the Pilgrimage steering committee is that this year's registration is running two to one over last year's record 10,000 attendance. The theme for the eighteenth annual Scout Pilgrimage is the Covered wagon Era. The highlight of the event will be the celebration of the 150th bir­ th date of General Grant, 1822- 1972. Galena's historic Main street is expected to be decorated with bunting and shop windows will display pictures depicting the era. A stagecoach will head the hour and half parade. About 3,000 Scouts will be assigned camping spots at Recreation park in Galena and the balance is expected to camp at Apple River State park and the Palisades State park near Savanna. Special off-street parking areas have been designated to help ease the crowded down­ town area. Invitations have been mailed to President Nixon, Vice- President Agnew, Governor Ogilvie, Senator Percy, Senator Stevenson and Congressman Anderson. MCC Woodstock Campus Offers New Course Creative Expression is the title of a new course being offered at the Woodstock campus of McHenry County college. Classes will begin this Saturday, March 11, from 1 to 3 p.m. for ten weeks. The major portion of the course will be devoted to oral communication. group discussion, oral in­ terpretation, and im- provisational exercises. Subjects for discussion will include theater, film, music, poetry or any other media in which the student feels most interested. The aim of the course is to help the student effectively express his own ideas along with the creative efforts of others. One may register at the Woodstock campus at 113^ S.
