McCullom Lake Mildred Watson 385-3585 Parents Meet To Decide On Little League Parents, please don't let the boys down. A Little League Club for the village is, of this moment, a very big maybe. There is going to be a meeting at the beach house at 8 p.m. on March 15. Volunteers are needed to help these young lads. Believe me, it will be time well spent. Almost everyone knows how much being a Little Leaguer means to the boys. The spirit of competition, the cheers of the on-lookers, and most of all knowing their parents are behind them, win or lose, is something they will remember, perhaps for a lifetime. Please, at least attend the meeting, you might find out, that the task of helping will not be the grueling job you might think it is. Have some fun this summer and spring, help the village form a Little League Club. March 15 is the day, time 8 p.m. at the beach house. VILLAGE NEWS The following might be of interest to new residents as well as some of the long time residents. Here are just a few of the laws which apply to all residents of the Village of McCullom Lake. Ordinance No. 6 Vehicles: Each person who is a resident of the village for a period of 30 days or longer and who owns a vehicle(s), must purchase a vehicle tax sticker from the village clerk at 4616 Parkview Gfete No. 2, and affix same to the windshield of said vehicle(s). Ordinance No. 7 DOGS: Any person owning, keeping or harboring a dog must have said dog inoculated for rabies and purchase a village dog tax license from the village clerk and affix said tag to dog's collar or harness. No dog is permitted to run at large outside the confines of the owner's property. Ordinance No. 71 and 78 - UNLICENSED and-or INOPERATIVE vehicles. Define the keeping of an unlicensed and-or inoperative vehicle as a nuisance and provide 7 days for correction of same after a notice is served. Fines may be assessed for violating any of the ordinances. ABOUT DOGS Someone is again letting their dog loose. That dog is causing a nuisance. Please, for your neighbors peace of mind, please, keep your dog where it belongs, in your own yard. A COMMENT Up until now the news has been on the gloomy side. Unless I am called about happier things, that's all there is. ENGAGED On the bright side. The First United Methodist church of LaGrange will be the setting for the June wedding of Barbara Riggins and James Frost. Barbara is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Riggins of LaGrange Park and James is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Frost of Spring Road. The very best to the young couple. BIRTHDAYS A very happy birthday to Mary Kantorski. Mary celebrates her big day on March 24. VILLAGE CLERK Karen Parks, the village clerk, has her office at 4616 Parkview. A VA-guaranteed loan may be partially or fully paid at any time ahead of schedule. However, part payments may not be less than one monthly payment or $100, whichever is less. Q - About two years ago, I received VA outpatient treatment for an injury sustained in service and verified by VA. Can I receive treatment again from VA? A -- Yes, if you have established this service- connection with VA. Suggest you apply for treatment again. Q - I have been drawing widow's pension of $81 since January 1971, and I earned $900 the rest of the year. Should I report this to VA, and what effect will this have on my pension? A -- Anytime a person who draws nonservice-connected death pension has a change in income during the year, it must be reported to the VA office having his records. That office will decide if pension ad justments are necessary. If there is income that could not have been anticipated, payments are usually adjusted at end of year in which income changed.
