The group that was known as the SPARK PLUGS have changed their name. From now on they will be known as the LILY-LAKERS. More will be printed as time goes on as to their projects and ac tivities. We will be having more parent cooperation this year As time goes on I will keep you informed as to what their plans and projects are. NURSERY NEWS St. Patrick's Day has a more spec ia l meaning , o ther than a day for the wearing of the green for the Thornton and Gravenstuk families, the reason being that Mr. and Mrs Fred Thornton are the proud parents of a son born on this day Little Robert Patrick was born in the Woodstock hospital very early in the morning. He weighed in at 7 pounds. Mr. and Mrs. Chuck Thornton are the proud paternal grandparents and Lu Gravenstuk is great- grandmother. His maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Robert Tuttle and great- grandmother is Mrs. McNett, all of Woodstock. HAPPY BIRTHDAY Wishes go out to Kristine Casey who will be celebrating her day on March 24, Mary Anderson and Patrick Ep person will share March 25 as their birthday. Here's hoping all three of the above have a very happy day. ANNIVERSARY WISHES A surprise party was held for Mr. and Mrs. John Arbogast in honor of their silver wedding anniversary. The party was held on March 10, in the home of their son, James Arbogast, it was given by Mrs. James Arbogast, Mrs. Pete O'Rourke, Mrs. Richard Sebesta and Mrs Chambers. There were about fifteen guests to help celebrate this memorable occasion with the Arbogast family. The honored couple received many beautiful gifts. See you next week. veone (2VUc 1--^ I Zoning Hearing Asks Amendment To Ordinance A zoning hearing will bef held in the Citv Council chambers in Crystal Lake Wednesday, April 5, at 3 o'clock on a request of the Home State bank of Crystal Lake, as trustee. The petition requests an amendment of the McHenry county zoning or dinance which will result in the reclassification of a piece of property from "F" farming to "R" residence. The property is located on the west side of Barreville road, just north of the junction of Barreville and Rt. 176, in Nunda township. It consists of 47.44 acres. Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Johnson of 5101 Fountain lane, McHenry, sailed into Norfolk, Va., Thursday, March 16, after six months in the Mediterranean and North Atlantic aboard the aircraft carrier USS Independence. PLAINDEALER PHOTOS By Wayne Gaylord 1 The Ballet Of The Neck What a reach, and there is still some slack as she scouts the area in front of her feet. Traveling to Johnsburg on a tip about a whistling swan taking up residency there, our photographer noted that the bird seemed to be performing a ballet. Realizing not many would have the opportunity to see the graceful dance in progress, it seemed best to capture the performance on film and share it with all of our Plaindealer readers. The swan was not camera shy. The more the camera clicked, the more she performed. Artistically the ballet continued, and came to a conclusion only when the photographer's film reached an end. Another large photo ap pears on Page I of this issue. To look straight down, something's got to give and the arch goes upw ard It's beauty, when she takes a rest and her neck forms a graceful arc. Hungry again, she scouts for food and her neck extends out like that of the SST plane. i
