These young men and women are establishing an effective Farm Bureau Young Farmers program. They elected officers last week and began immediate committee assignments to activate several projects. Officers include Jim Stewart, Hebron, president; Dave Gardner, Solon Mills, vice- chairman; Dick Stoxen, Harvard, treasurer; and Mrs. Barbara Schultz, Woodstock, secretary. David Gusse, Dixon, chairman of the State Young Farmers committee, welcomed the McHenry County Farm Bureau group to an active status as he reviewed some of the areas of challenge facing agriculture in the 1970 s. He listed them as pollution control, quality of the environment, and an "ever-expanding urban society with all its demands. These problems have never been faced before by farmers and they are going to demand answers now." Stewart explained that the purpose of the Farm Bureau Young Farmers program is to provide opportunities for leadership development and to enable young adults to be participating members of Farm Bureau All Farm Bureau members, or dependent members, 18-30 years of age, married or unmarried, are eligible to participate. Activities in McHenry county are being studied, but for­ mation of committees provides a starting point. Committees and persons assigned to them include Dick Stoxen, Ken Stewart and Mrs. Barbara Fink, budgeting committee; Al Fink and Barbara Fink, annual above named decedent and that letters TESTAMENTARY were issued on March 27, 1972, to Frank John Marschall, 1425 N. Schwegel, a Beloit college upperclassman from McHenry, was among twenty- eight students honored Saturday at the college's an­ nual Honors Day program. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul A. Schwegel of 4301 West Clear- view. McHenry, he won the Horace White classical prize for excellence in special work assigned by the Department of Classics.
