(DON PEASELY PHOTO) "Preparation For Parenthood" Classes Offered The next session of the free "Preparation for Parenthood" class at Memorial Hospital for Mc Henry County will be held Monday, May l The second class in this series will be held May 8, Mrs Carolyn Schmidt, R.N., in charge of the program, has announced. The course is given free by the hospital medical and nursing staffs as a community service program of Memorial hospital. Both sessions will be conducted in the hospital staff dining room at 8 p.m. Announcement is made now so women planning to attend may obtain the routine slips from their physicians. Fathers-to-be are welcome to attend and many do join their wives in this informative up- to-date program for today's health care emphasis to aid both mothers and their babies. A film on pre-natal care opens the program of the first evening's session, followed by a discussion led by a staff physician. The group tours the maternity department, then will see the demonstration by a staff nurse on caring for a new baby with the help of a life-like doll. A film on "Labor and Delivery" will open the second evening's program, again with staff physician leading a discussion. The second half of the evening program includes a film on "Normal Delivery ." All films are available because the Woman's auxiliary provided funds to purchase these educational movies. MARCIA DOLBY ENGAGED - Announcement has been made by Mr. and Mrs. David Dolby of 721 Lillian street, McHenry, of the engagement of their daughter, Marcia, to Gerald Ronspies, son of Mrs. Bernard Ronspies of Chicago. An Aug. 20 wedding is planned. Miss Dolby is a 1970 graduate of McHenry high school, and is employed in the personnel department of a Chicago insurance company. Iler fiance,a 1969graduate of Northern Illinois university, is an auditor for a large Chicago firm. These candidates for the 1972 Milk Day queen will participate in several question-and-a newer sessions during the preliminary contest for the Milk Day Queen competition Saturday, June 3. One will be a t Harvard's Moose home at 8 p.m. April 10. Robert L. Sorensen is chairman of the revue. Aiding Mm in this annual Queen selection event are Hannah Brady, Dorothy Kleckner, Betty Menzies and Evelyn Sorensen. Candidates from North Boone high school are not yet available, but the other six area communities and their en­ trants, chosen by their respective high school student- body and faculty are: Alden- Hebron; Diane Mathison, Nancy Stoner and Patricia Tibbitts; Big Foot, Jean Hansen, Arlene Lidbury and Oece Spicer; Harvard, Charlotte Firn, Barbara Rich and Patricia Shields; Huntley, Michelle Lane, Ann Michelson and Pam Radloff; Marengo, Judy Giblin, Dana Peck and Nancy Wade; Richmond- Burton, Rose Emery, Nancy Golden and Pam McAbee. Personality, interest, scholarship and talent of each d these lovely beauties will be judged. Of the field of twenty-one entrants, seven will be recognized as the official representatives of their respective community for the 1972 Milk Day queen com­ petition Saturday, June 3. Chapter President Mrs. Dale Sprouse welcomed guests, Mesdames Frank Colomer, Bill Rowan and Dan Russell. Social and Rush chairman, Mrs. Carl Grinstead, crowned Mrs. Dan Russell costume winner and awarded Funny Fun Fest game prizes to Mesdames Leonard Siatta, Pearce Konold, Craig Stackhouse, Frank Colomex and Miss Adele Sabel. Special entertainment for the evening will be a program by the concert band, directed by Richard Mikus, and the choir, directed by Mrs. Barbara Gustafson. Refreshments will be served. Girl Forester Officers Will Be Installed The Johnsburg Juvenile Girl Foresters of St. Agatha Court, No. 777, will meet Monday, April 10, at the Community club hall from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Each family is asked to bring a dish to pass for the pot-luck sppper, plus the regular dues. After supper, the newly elected officers will be installed and new members will be initiated. Games will be played after the meeting. Mary Dobbins, Mrs. Rogers, Mary Schaan, Ruth Roach, Sharon Gacek, Beverly Walinski, Tressa Collins and Dorothy Lense met at the home of Mrs. Walinski and spent many hours putting together the flowers. The spring luncheon and card party is an annual event sponsored by the Lakeland Park Women's club. It will take place Wednesday, April 12, at St. Patrick's parish hall, 3500 Washington street. Serving will begin at 11:30 a.m. The lun­ cheon promises to be a very pleasant way to spend an af­ ternoon. Jane Vacula Is Honored On 10th Birthday Jane Elizabeth Vacula was the honored guest at her tenth birthday party last Friday night when eight girl friends helped her celebrate with a slumber party at her home, 3801 W. Timothy lane, Bdgebrook Heights. Guests who attended were Darlene Diedrich, Bess Ann Terry, Angie Berman, Carol Herrmann, Lorraine and Patti Adams and Lisa and Susan Piatt. Also, present were Jane's twin sisters, Susan and Amy, who added to the en­ tertainment. All enjoyed their over-night party. Sheriff To Speak Before PTO Meeting As guest speaker at the Spring Grove P.T.O. meeting, Sheriff Arthur Tyrrell will give a progress report of various programs initiated in McHenry county for the benefit of its residents. Drugs, teen-age crime and safety wiU be among his topics. A question and answer period will follow. The public is invited to come to the Spring Grove elementary school April 12 at 8 p.m. Refreshments will be served. Jennie Sundt Will Observe 80th Birthday Mrs. Jennie Sundt of 328 W. Rand road, Lake moor, will celebrate her eightieth bir­ thday Sunday, April 9, at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Anita Rhoton. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren will join her in the observance. Mrs. Sundt' has resided 1h Lake moor for the past thirty years She is well and active, still baking homemade bread twice a week. Her son, Ernest, lives with Mrs. Sundt.
