Members of the McHenry County Homemakers Ex tension association will have the opportunity to learn what makes a car go and tips on keeping the car in good health. Ed Winn of the Milex Garage, Crystal Lake, is presenting the program "Car Care for 'Women," Thursday, April 13, 9:30 a.m. Between 30 and 40 slacks- wearing women may soon increase the auto-mechanic work force after learning how to tighten the fan belt, how to check the radiator hoses, clean the battery caps and when to recognize trouble signs and sounds. After the April 13 meeting, these 30 to 40 women will return to their local groups to repeat the program for over 400 women. Membership was held for Pearl Radner, sponsored by Eileen Hodgson, and Betty Powell, sponsored by Florence McCormick. Violet Haack served as pro tem for the new members. The nominating committee will meet during the last two weeks in April. Committee members are Ila Hogan, Eunice Tobey, Marcella Stro6sner, Carol Sima, Eleanor Haerle, Bonnie Heinz, Eileen Hodgson, Marion Vornkahl, Florence McCormick, Violet Haack, Monique Kopp, Ethel Hagberg, Millicent Ladouceur and Greta Rother. Committee slate will be read in the first meeting in May. Elections will be held the last meeting in May. The LOOM installation of officers will be held Saturday, April 15, at 8 p.m. Chapter members are invited, with some serving as escorts for the evening. The A-F session will be at 10:30 a.m. on April 23 at the Arlington Towers hotel in Arlington Heights. Our chapter has eleven members eligible for the Academy of Friendship. There is a wedding May 13 and a dinner dance May 20. Help is tieeded for serving for these events. Chapter members are invited to the Waukegan chapter Green Cap night April 19.
