Miller, Scout xecutive of the Blackhawk Area Council, Boy Scouts of America, and Mrs. James Ffcirchild,executive director of the Rock River Valley council and Miss Mary Couzens, executive director of the Green Hills Council of Girl Scouts, said in a joint statement that together they will develop plans to coordinate their operations on Scouting KAB day, Satur­ day, April 29. The Scout officials noted that many Girl Scout units, as part cf their national Eco-Action program, participated with the BSA program this year. Both expressed confidence that with all units working together in 1972, the accomplishments will be "far greater" during the second year. Scouting Keep America Beautiful Day is a highlight of the Boy Scouts of America yearlong Project (SOAR), Save Our American Resources. "Nationally, there are 3,235,000 Girl Scouts and over 6 million Cub Scouts, Scouts Explorers, and leaders, and they will take the lead in the anti-litter campaign with many other organizations supporting the effort," they said. "In this area most of the 17,000 BSA members and over 10,000 Girl Scouts will be in the front lines, and we urge everyone - youth and adults - to volunteer their help." Contributing to the effort are many civic, business, govern­ ment, latbcc, conservation, and other concerned groups, many cf whose national organizations are actively represented on the boards of the three sponsoring groups. In their statement, the of­ ficials of the young organizations emphasized the educational and action benefits of the project. Pointing out that the two groups and KAB, Inc., conduct environmental im­ provement programs throughout the year, they said the concentration cf effort on one particular day is designed to produce greater impact on the local communities. "Litter along streets, high­ ways, and roads, on water­ ways, in parks and recreation areas is more than unsightly - it is a health and safety hazard," the youth officials said. "It may add to water pollution, cause injuries, or be a fire hazard. Much of this material may be recycled, and wherever possible on Scouting Keep America Beautiful Day, arrangements will be made for reclaiming or recycling usable materials which will help conserve natural resources while reducing the solid waste disposal problem." Children were George, Howard Lewis, wife, Edith, Mary, married a Skinner;-Edith Gussie born in Woodstock 1866 first married a Frank Brink, 1885 and there were two sons, Roy and Robert. Her second husband was Frank McAllister apd they had one son. In­ formation is wanted on all three families -| Pratt, Brink and McAllister. ; Information wanted on family cf William B. Congress made the tax re­ peal retroactive to the beginning of the President's wage and price freeze on August 15.
