Warriors Split Twin Bill With Wildcats By Fred Kusch Ken Swanson's team went into extra innings, 11 innings to be precise, to defeat the Libertyville Wildcats by 3-2 margin in the first end of last Saturday's double header. The Wildcats broke into the scoring column in the second frame as Kieny, the Wildcats first baseman, doubled and scored on Sterer's single The Warriors countered in the third inning when Rogers reached on an error, stole second and scored on a single by Miller. R,on then stole second and went to third on a wild pitch and scored on Prazak's single. The 'Cats again countered in the fourth when it was again Kieny who tripled and scored on a sacrifice. The rally will be held in coordination with Marian's Spring Carnival The start and finish will be at Manan. The bike road rally is a cross country race for all types of bikes in which contestants leave the starting point at regular intervals beginning at 12 noon and follow marked road signs as they travel throughout the county. The race will be held on paved and unpaved secondary roads in an area bounded by Rts 12,173,120 and 47. Distance for the race will raqge between 28 miles for 5 and 10 speed bikes and 12 miles for 3 and single speed bikes Check points will be located throughout the area to provide necessary aid and to verify that each contestant is following the correct course The contestants will be broken up into several classes. The bikes will be divided into two divisions: 1) 5 and 10 speeds and 2) 3 speed and single speed. There will be separate divisions for 1st through 9th grades and 10th grade and above Trophies will be awarded to the person having the fastest overall time McHenry Wins Two Dual Tennis Matches in each of the two grade divisions and for each of the two categories of bikes. A boys' and girls' trophy will be awarded in the senior division of the 5 and 10 speed bike race. Registration for the Road Rally can be made at the Outdoor Club booth at Marian Central's Spring Carnival on May 19, 20 and 21 The registration fee for each contestant is 50 cents. With each registration, the participant will receive the assigned departure time of his choice - a bike sticker in­ dicating participation in this rally, and a chance on a new 10 speed racer. Marian Outdoor Club hopes that this is a start in organized biking activities throughout McHenry County. The Outdoor Club urges all interested in this growing sport to participate in the rally.
