Next Recycling Day Set Saturday In Crystal Lake Crystal Lake area residents will again have a chance to show their concern for the environment by recycling glass, tin cans and newspapers on Saturday, July 15. The McHenry County Defenders sponsor these collections on the third Saturday of every month. Cooperating families are asked to note that the collec tions will be at two different locations. Glass and cans will be collected at the Crystal Lake Plaza parking lot as usual from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Newspapers only will be collected at the faculty parking lot at Crystal Lake high school from 9 a.m. until the truck is full. Entrance to this lot is from Wallace avenue. Glass containers should be clean and separated by color. It is essential that metal rings be removed. Only tin cans are acceptable ~ no beer or pop cans. The cans should be stripped of paper labels and flattened. Only newspapers can be accepted and they must be tied securely with cord in small bundles. With space available in existing landfills filling up at an increasingly fast rate, the Defenders believe that it is essential for more and more families to make recycling a daily habit. Membership in the Cary Grove Art guild is open to all -- professional, non-professional and student as well as those who simply wish to observe and learn. Anyone interested in joining or desiring more in formation can contact Dolores Smith at 639-9331. 11£00BIU Large Area Cool Power | oti 115-Voit House Current General Electric Deluxe Air Conditioner with 2 Cooling Speeds, Air Exhaust and Superthrast Ait Power! Male Liberation Advanced With Scott's Opinion - * Male liberation advanced a step with the issuance of an opinion that 18-year-old Illinois males can marry without parental consent. Attorney General William J. Scott has held that present Illinois statutes which allow females to wed at 18 without parental consent -- but require males to be 21 - "differentiate between the sexes" and thus violate the Equal Rights protections of both the Federal and the new Illinois Con stitution. Scott's 9-page opinion, given to State's Attorney Don Johnson of Perry county, cited case law as well as Con stitutional guarantees of equal protections. Copies of the opinion are now being disseminated to every State's Attorney and County Clerk in Illinois.
