Only elected officers for the present year are eligible to attend. Other dates to remember are: Aug. 1 our chapter's Star Recorder night and it has been requested that co-workers bring a dish to pass; and Sunday, Aug. 6, is the date of the Loyal Order of Moose an­ nual picnic at Spojnia Grove; Sunday, Aug. 13, is the LOOM annual golf outing. Assisting Chairman Ila Hogan were Mabel Thomas, Alyce Kowal, Eunice Tobey, Ethel Hagberg and Carolyn Sima. All of the above co-workers are members of the College of Regents. Our next meeting is Tuesday, July 18, at 8 p.m. It will be an open meeting, so why not come and bring a friend. ITEM: To speed up check-out time, as well as to cut man power costs, supermarkets, in increasing numbers, will adopt automated systems, say food marketing ex­ perts. The products will be coded and passed under a scanner to be automatically totaled. The tech­ nology is currently available and several chains are experimenting with this concept already. ITEM: Shopping needs of sen­ ior citizens are getting more at­ tention as the over-65 group has become the fastest growing seg­ ment of this nation's population. High on the list is a need for package sizes smaller than the usual family sized prepacks. There are now more than 20 million people over 65 years 0f age in the United States. J PARK ATTRACTION - The iifl activity «f Marine Festival Week in McHenry will be held Wednesday evening, July 19, when the Scotch Lads appear to present a dance in the city park.
