Indian Club Officers Named In Lake Region Indian Guide, Y-Warrior and Indian Princess clubs have announced their leaders. The Lake Region YMCA Indian Guide Grand Council 1-3 grade sons and fathers has selected its governing body. Those chosen from both the River and Lake nations are Clayton Smith, Crystal Lake, chief; Mel Freund, Crystal Lake, medicine man; Jim Francis, Crystal Lake, tallykeeper; and Gene Bur- meister, Woodstock, Sachem. Their induction took place at the second annual camper and tent campout at Holiday Acres, Garden Prairie. The council coordinates the activities of its two nations and plans father and son banquets, family road rallies, publishes a newspaper, plans fall recruitment, leadership workshops, and plans for tribal strength. The second step of father and son program is Y-Warriors. Officers for this 9-12 year old activity for 1972-73 are Jim Van Bosch, Crystal Lake, chief; Ed Grant, Crystal Lake, medicine man; Kris Klabunde, Wood­ stock, tallykeeper; Bill Reuster, Crystal Lake, torn torn beater; Duane Jernberg, McHenry, wampum bearer; and A1 Selling, Crystal Lake, sachem. Council activities include planning outings, special speakers, campouts, an award system for skill activities, recruitment and service to tribfet activities. The program emphasizes increasing the son's leadership skills. Art Exhibit . At College Now through Aug. 1,1972, art work by Kevin Click will be on display at McHenry County college. Kevin is a resident of Crystal Lake and is currently completing a degree in art at Northern Illinois university. He is a former student of Joseph Rybacek of the MCC Art department. In this, his first one-man showing, Kevin's diversity of style and media working in both the abstract and representational is evident. The show consists of select sculpture, prints and drawings. The public is invited to view the show Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the lobby of the college at 6200 Northwest highway, Crystal Lake. Here & There In BUSINESS Local Couple Retires After > Long Careers Mr. and Mrs. Henry Reese of 4306 W. Crestwood, McHenry, •have retired after long service to the community through their respective careers. Youngsters entering the second grade at Edgebrook school next fall will miss the friendly smile and helping hand extended by Mildred Reese for twenty years. A graduate of McHenry high school, she started her teaching career m Momence, 111., and later taughtatthe Harris school, a private school in Chicago. Since that time, she lias been one of the most valuable teachers in District 15, always having taught second graders at Edgebrook. Her husband retired in June after ten years as owner of McHenry Sign Service. This followed twenty-five years of government service. RECORDSALES C Ted Hill, president of Northern Illinois Realty Ser­ vice, Inc., reported record June sales in excess pt $1,000,000. JULY 14, 1972 > » • % AVIATION NEEDS The Illinois Department of Aeronautics has executed a planning grant agreement with the Federal Aviation Ad­ ministration for development of a new State Airport Systems Plan to be integrated with a National Airport Systems Plan. Estimated cost of the work is $550,000, of which the federal government will pay two- thirds. The carefully controlled study will , correlate all available information con­ cerning present airport facilities, plans for develop­ ment of airports, the economic condition of the state and its communities, and industrial development patterns evident within the state, according to Aeronautics Director Allan F. Landolt.
