It is of course the swimming in the lake I am talking about. I really don't know what to say about this week, but use your own judgment. If the signs are down I suppose it will be alright to go into the water. Have fun and enjoy your summer. » A wonderful time was had by all, at the home of Mrs. Harriet McNammara, on Hickory Drive. Harriet is better known^ July 26 as "Mac" to all. There were so many goodies served, three kinds of cakes and cherries that Mac put up herself. Attending the party were, Mrs. Rose Gutt, Mrs. Mayda Shigley, Mrs. Albtfia Dill, Irene Sales, Antoinette Luto, Mrs. Irene Groh, Josie Giosa and Mrs. Ir^ne Sales, Mrs. Florence Brady. One more important note, I was so very pleased to receive a birthday card signed by all those present, it certainly gave a big lift to my spirits. BIRTHDAYS Happy birthday to. Magda Bergland on July 22. Happy birthday Elaine Gleeson on NEWLYWEDS Best wishes to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Frett on their marriage July 8. The bride is the former Patti Moerschbaecher of Lake wood. DOGSAND MORE DOGS Please keep your dog on your own property, if you want to keep your neighbors happy and if you don't care to pay a fine for letting your pet run at large. there have been so many complaints about this situation, please cooperate it makes for good feelings. The next most frequent complaint is the bark and whining of dogs. There have been a few people com plaining of some pets not having proper shelter from the weather. Please see that your, dog has the proper shelter before authorities are called in. ' GARDENS There are so many beautiful gardens in the village. The weather hasn't cooperated too well, but most of my neighbors have tomatoes, beans, cucumbers and all look great. Our garden is just green, no vegetables, but maybe next year. COMMENTS Have a good week, smile and be happy. Tomorrow is another day. This ends the complams for the week, and I must say they are all valid. Michigan is classed as being the first Great Lakes state to be discovered and described by an European (Brule, 1618). 4-H CLOTHING JUDGED - First and second year clothing projects are increasingly popular with McHenry County 4-H members. The former Wonder Lake Bible church in Wonder Center has been completely renovated by this young couple and is now known as the Schilling Funeral Home. Our best wishes to John and Sara for a successful future in Wonder Lake. Such a business has never before been established in Wonder Lake and the subject of the venture is one most of us are hesitant to deal with. But we came across something that Winston Churchill once said that we like, "I am ready to meet my maker, but whether my maker is prepared for the great ordeal of meeting me is another matter." Amen!
