Those who have secret pals throughout the year get to know who has been sending the un­ signed cards, greetings and gifts. The July social evening was at the home of Shirley Cristy. Games were played and a lot of visiting done, then guessing as to who had been sending those cards and goodies. New names were drawn for another year of suspense. The only business was the announcement of the success of the Chicken Barbecue from last Sunday. There were 724 dinners served. Really a success. Lots of work with fellowship and fun. Delicious refreshments were served by Shirley and Doris. The next WSCS meeting will be Sept. 13. We will let you %now where. SEWING CIRCLE The Sewing Circle will meet at the home of Doris Low on Thursday, July 27. We start about 10:30, this is fancy work for the bazaar in November. SADDENED The community was sad­ dened by the sudden death of Bob Roach last Saturday. We all extend our sympathies to the family. BAPTISM On Sunday, July 2, the infant daughter ofMr. and Mrs. Jack Kuhrt was baptized by Rev. John Mclntyre at Faith Presbyterian church. Kimberly Marie was guest of honor for a picnic served by her parents and sister, Jodie, to friends and neighbors following the ser­ vice. TRAVELERS Jack and Karen Kuhrt and their daughters, Jodie and Kim, visited with Jack's folks recently, the Walter Kuhrts of Sedalia, Colo. Jodie has stayed with her grandparents for an indefinite visit. ABOUT TOWN Mrs. Mabel Hawley has been enjoying a visit from her daughter, Mrs. Shirley Woodward, of Largo, Fla. While here, Shirley joined the family in helping her mother celebrate her eighty-second birthday. Another daughter, Mrs. Marion Reinwall, of McHenry served the birthday dinner last Sunday. Sunday evening, Mrs. Hawley visited with her sister- in-law, Mrs. Howe, of Crystal Lake. ^ . Mr. and Mrs. Fred Simon of Chicago visited in the home of Ruby Shepard last Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Foss of Mt. Vernon, New York are visiting in the home of Ruby Shepard for a week or so. Doyne and Marie Baker from Mt. Vernon, Ind., visited Saturday afternoon and evening with friends in the McHenry and Ringwood" area. Doyne and Marie and family have been gone from the Ringwood area for 3 years now. So nice to see them for a short visit even. New people have moved into the former Henry Aissen home. Mr. and Mrs. Kenny and five children are from Crystal Lake. Mr. Kenny, a navy man, is driving back and forth to Great Lakes each day. Henry Aissen has moved to McHenry. Brian Betts entertained a few ., of his little friends at a birthday party at his home last lW- sday afternoon. Brian had help from his mom tho. Mr. and Mrs. Mark Ringelstetter and son, John,of Columbus, Wis., were visitors Sunday evening with Mrs. Nellie Hepburn. Later they drove to Genoa, Wis., to see Charles and Dolores Brennan who were visiting there. Over the weekend, Mr. and; Mrs. Russell Soddy of Kenosha called on her sister, Mrs. Hepburn, to take her to Wauwatosa for a visit with Dr. Hepburn's daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schuetze. *" Other visitors in the Brennan- Hepbum home were Mr. and Mrs. Judd of Evans ton and Mr. and Mrs. Johnson of Winnetka. CARD CLUB The Canasta club met in the home of Alvin and Muriel Benoy last Saturday night with high scores going to Frank Harrison and Katy Christopher. VISITORS Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence McGranahan and Mr. and Mrs. Ken Mennicke of Janesville, Wis., visited with the Art Christopher family last Friday evening. Between cloudbursts they managed to enjoy dinner in Richmond that evening. Mrs. Helen Barker and daughter, Nancy, spent a week with Helen's mother of Assumption, 0 Illf While there they also visited with brothers and sisters and the rest of the gang. Once again we find the Bruces at home. Seems that Clayton and Virginia went on another fishing expedition^ They found a place in the North country where they can fish and really rest. The Leonard Ackermans and Lenny, Lora and Lisa went to a ball game down in Kaneland, (just south of Elburn) and then back to the Marvin Ackermans for an afternoon of swimming and turkey barbecue. VACATIONERS One /time residents of Ringwood, the Bakers, who lived in the Muzzy building, now residing in California, were visiting with the Charles and Leonard Acker man and Bruce families for a week. Both Cecilia "Swede"' and Cecil "Tex" got to visit with the Roger Petskas, Ken Becks, Wes Bruces, Mr. and Mrs. Urban Decker of Union, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ackerman and Mr. and Mrs. David. Ackerman and daughter, all of Elburn, Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Samuelson and family of Rich­ mond, at an outdoor fish fry on the famous Bruce grill and giant pan! There were forty- one in attendance. HAPPY BIRTHDAY ' Birthday wishes on July 25 go to Mrs. Ruth Harrison and Mike Hogan, and on July 26 to Mrs. Arline Pearson, and Tom Parsley who saw fit to share their natal day. On July 27 Linda Hopp and Donna Lyn Erwin share the day. Now on July 28 Althea Walkington and Buelah Kick will share their day. The happiest to you all. ANNIVERSARIES As we look back to July 26 some years ago we would see Ralph and Buelah Kick speeding off as newlyweds. Now all we can do is wish them many more years of happiness and good health as they once again celebrate another year of marriage. The best to you both.
