THOMAS DRITLEIN POPELKA PHOTO Lynn Letzter, Park Ridge Man Wed Saturday Miss Lynne Letzter and Mr. Thomas R. Dritlein were married Saturday, July 29, in a 3 o'clock ceremony solemnized in St. John the Baptist church, Johnsburg. Miss Letzter is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Letzter of 2410 W. Mehring avenue, McHenry. Her husband is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Warren W. Dritlein of 722 Wesley drive, Park Ridge. Father Leo Bartel officiated at the double ring service at< tended by 100 persons. The church was decorated with bouquets of white mums, white gladioli and purple asters. Mrs. Kathryn Guzzardo was organist. Acting as maid of honor for the bride was Mary O'Connor of McHenry, a close friend. Jane Frost was her bridesmaid. Ronald Dritlein of Baltimore, Md., served as best man for his brother. William Dritlein, also a brother, was groomsman and Rick Salsman and William Rowe were ushers. The pretty bride, given in marriage by her father, chose a satapeau dress with motifs of Venice lace on the bodice, full sleeves and empire waist. The lace appliqued train fell from a fabric bow at the back. She carried a colonial bouquet of. white daisies, roses, stephanotis and baby's breath. Her attendants wore dresses in the colors of lilac, pink and white lino-weave cotton, trimmed in Venice lace and lilac ribbon. They were styled with high neckline. A wedding dinner and reception followed the ceremony at the Holiday Inn, Elgin, for 150 guests. Following their wedding trip to Jamaica, the newlyweds will make their home at 722 Wesley drive. Both the bride and bridegroom are students at Western Illinois university. Rosalyn W agner Is Married In Wisconsin Rite Sacred Heart church, Pine Creek, Wis., was the setting for a beautiful wedding solemnized Saturday, July 29, at noon. United in marriage were Miss Rosalyn Wagner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Wagner of 1003 N. « Fourth street, McHenry, and Mr. Roger Bambenek, son of Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Bambenek of Rt. 2, Arcadia, Wis. Father Edwin Stanek of ficiated at the ceremony in a church decorated with bouquets of gladioli. The c h u r c h c h o i r s a n g , a c companied by Organists Nancy Lince and Sandy Jereczek. The pretty Miss Wagner selected a dacron, polyester, organza dress with schiffli embroidery and detachable wattau train. It was styled with tiny bands of Venice lace running down the front of the gown and on the sleeves. The bodice featured an empire waistline and bishop sleeves. A long mantilla edged in Venice lace was worn on her head end she carried a bouquet of white rosebuds. Attending Miss Wagner as maid of honor was her sister, Elaine Wagner, of McHenry. Bridesmaids were Ellen Tiggemann of McHenry, Debra Kramer of Winona, Minn., and Bonnie Frahm of Dodge, Wis. All attendants wore long gowns of nylon chiffon. They had white, long sleeves, the bodice and neckline featuring lace enterlaced with blue chiffon and decorated with tiny embroidered flowers. Miss Wagner's skirt and hat were of poudre blue and the1 bridesmaids' skirts and hats were of romance blue. Each carried a basket of summer flowers. Jerome Bambenek of Hastings, Minn., served as best man. Groomsmen were An thony Wagner of Trempealeau, Wis., Randal Wagner and Allah Wagner, brothers of the bride, of McHenry. Mrs. Wagner selected for her daughter's wedding a light blue lace dress, lace trimmed, with white accessories and a white orchid corsage. Mrs. Bam benek wore pale blue crepe, lace trimmed, with white ac cessories arttka-Avhite, orchid. A reception followed the ceremony for 325 guests, held at the Winona Athletic club, Winona, Minn. The program for the evening will be two very in teresting films entitled "Wings Over Hawaii" and "Swit zerland". Mrs. Robert Wilke reported the sewing groups are keeping very busy, making very useful items for Valley-Hi Nursing home. Their schedule is as follows: Group 2 will meet Friday, Aug. 4, at 9:30 a.m., at the home of Mrs. Emily Broeker, 3805 W. John street. Group 3 will meet Wed nesday, Aug. 9, at 9:30 a.m., at the home of Frances Vycital, 1228V2 North Green street. Group No. 3 is still quite small, so any of the ladies who are interested in getting into the sewing groups should contact Mrs. Wilke for further par ticulars. Threads, materials, trim mings, etc., are needed for the sewing groups. Interesting news items, cancelled postage stamps, and reading materials are needed for the therapy work at Valley-Hi. Alf Heggeland suggests in terested persons wanting to attend the art classes should contact him for further par ticulars, as there is room for additional "budding artists" in the art classes Tuesday af ternoons at Landmark school from 2 to 4 p.m. Mrs. Giel reminds of reser vations for the bus trip to Milwaukee on Wednesday, Aug. 30. The first bus is filled, and there are only a few reservations left on the second bus. This will be a very en joyable trip as the group will visit the zoo, museum, and other interesting spots, in cluding the Whitnall Gardens. On Monday evening, Aug. 28, the big event is the annual Flower and Garden show. Those bringing exhibits should arrive a little early to get their display set up an§ ready for the judging. The brief business session will start at the usual time - 7:30 p.m., in the East campus cafeteria. The long- awaited show displays the talents of senior citizens in producing exceptionally fine vegetables and exquisite flowers and floral arrangements. Open Class Flower Show To Attract Fair-Goers Two exhibits by Mrs. Russell Rasmussen, McHenry, will give added interest to the open class flower show at the McHenry County Fair this year. While Mrs. Rasmussen is providing non-competing exhibits, other persons in McHenry county are urged to look over the list of classes where they may enter flowers to compete, and the entry deadline is Friday, August 4. Mrs. Richard Walrath, Woodstock, says entries will be accepted between 1 and 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4, in the highway department building for the specimen blooms and arrangements classes. Details on the rules may be found in the green-covered premium list available at the McHenry county Fair office, located on the fairgrounds or at the McHenry County Farm Bureau building. No commercially groomed flowers are to be used in any of these classes, the rules specify. Judges will be Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Busse, Woodstock. The exhibits which Mrs. Rasmussen will have on view include bonsai and herb gar dening. "I started with bonsai about six years ago, with one tree which I pruned and potted," explained Mrs. Rasmussen. "Today I have over 50 bonsai. Bonsai is a fairly new art in America, but in Japan trees are passed down from one generation to the next with some trees hundreds of years old. I expect to have about twenty-five bonsai on display at the Fair. "I started herb gardening about five years ago and became fond of these aromatic and useful plants. LaRae Prenatt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Prenatt of In diana, Pa., became the birde of Mr. Richard J. Jelinek, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Jelinek of McHenry. After completing graduate work this summer at Berkeley university, the couple will reside in Fox Lake, where both are employed as teachers. MR. AND MRS. THOMAS HOLMIN «- BRIDAL COUPLE - Immanuel Lutheran church, Rockford, was the setting for a lovely summer wedding Saturday, July 22, when Marilyn Farris, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bob G Farris of 909 Darlington, Crystal Lake, became the bride of Thomas Holmin, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Holmin of Overlook road, Rockford. The bride was employed at McHenry hospital in the inhalation department. The groom is a student and plans to attend Rockford Junior college this fall. PATRICIA CAROL BUTLER ENGAGED - Announcement has been made of the engagement of Miss Patricia Carol Butler of 1125 Oakely, Elgin, and Robert Frank Steffan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold A. Steffan of 5406 E. Wonder Lake road, Wonder Lake. Miss Butler's parents are Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Butler of Elgin. The bride-to-be is a graduate of Larkin high school, Elgin, and is now a junior attending Illinois State university at Normal, where she is a home economics major. Her fiance is a 1968 graduate of McHenry high school. He is a senior majoring in industrial technology at Illinois State. A June 23, 1973, wedding is planned.
