AUXILIARY NEWS By Gerry Kuck Ila Hogan, president, con ducted the August meeting of the Ladies auxiliary to VFW Post 4600, where petitions for two new members were read by the secretary. Community Service Chair man Vi Abbink stated that much of our hospital equipment is not accounted for. It is not known where it has been loaned or when, so if you are in possession of any of the hospital equipment or know of a person who has borrowed any of it, such as wheel chairs, crutches or walkers, would you ask them to return same so it is available for others who may need the use of it. Membership Chairman Marge Moreth reported that to date 35 percent of the members have paid dues for the 1972-1973 year. Following her report, Gerry Kuck, who had attended the ^ 5th district auxiliary meeting, presented Marge with a plaque which was awarded to her by the district membership chairman for having attained 100 percent in membership for the past membership drive. Notes of appreciation were received from the National Home in Eaton Rapids and from the Devilaires. Youth Activities Chairman Barbara Kuck reported that the Devilaires had marched in the Algonquin "Founder's Day" parade. Sunshine Chairman Florence Tussey reported that she had sent a sympathy card to the Miller family and get well cards to Ila Hogan, Marge Moreth, Christine Gates and Elaine Barnes. The meeting was closed with the announcement of the date of the next meeting, which will be held on Monday, Sept. 11. Two Comedies Will Highlight City Centennial An out of the ordinary highlight of the Richmond Centennial celebration will be a production of "A Doctor In Spite of Himself", with an afterpiece entitled "If Women Worked As Men Do", presented by McHenry County college. The Black Watch Players and their alumni group are especially producing these comedies at the Richmond grade school for the Richmond Centennial. They are em ploying present members of the college group as well as alumni members and a few select high school scholarship actors. "A Doctor In Spite of Him self" will be directed by Henry Lamkin, a graduate of McHenry County college and Winona State, under the supervision of James Kenna of the college. This presentation will be made at 8 p.m. from Wednesday, Aug. 23, through Sunday, Aug. 27, at the Rich mond grade school. Each afternoon on the same dates at 2 p.m., "Pinocchio", under the direction of Van A. Vogel, will be presented at the grade school auditorium. Recruitment Set For Indian Princess Program Richard Smith, Nation chief of the Lake Region YMCA Indian Princess program, has announced that the dates for school meetings is Sept. 11-18. All school districts in the Lake Region are cooperating. Most of the talks will be given by Youth Director Phil Sprinkle. Invitations will be given to all first and second grade girls in the area. These invitations will be for the girls and their dads to attend 7:15- 8:15 p.m. meetings in the schools. The meetings will be informative for the dads and fun for the girls. All active participants will receive their first Indian feather. The Indian Princess program is nation-wide and is a vital program. In the midst of the economic and social pressures of suburban life it is an in centive to set aside definite time for dad to spend with his daughter and some sort of vehicle that will help make the time* enjoyable.
