Ringwood News Zanovers Welcome Arrival Of New Daughter, Amy Mark and Craig Zanover are spending a week with Grandma and Grandpa Harrison. The reason being that they have a sister, born August 19 at 9:40 p.m. She weighed in at 8 lbs., 11 ozs., and will answer to the name of Amy Christine. Congratulations to Eve and Mike and to Grandpa and Grandma Harrison and to Great-Grandpa Harrison. SQUARES Yes the Checkerboard squares are at it again. They went camping over the weekend at Lake Marie, near Antioch. Several couples camped Saturday and then the whole gang showed up for a family picnic on Sunday. There were a few unable to attend because of conflicting activities but fun was had by all. Those attending from here were the Dave Millers and the Walt Lows. OTHER CAMPERS Paul and Althea Walkington got to go camping last weekend. They were ac companied by Barb and Harvey Seaborg from here and the Alvin Benoys of McHenry. They went to Legend Lake, Wis. Mrs. Francis Wells of Rivera, Calif., called on Nellie Hepburn one day last week. Mrs. Elenor Burk from Chicago called on Nellie Hepburn, Sunday, along with Mr.( and Mrs. R. Soddy from Kenosha, Wis. Mrs. Nellie Hepburn and Mrs. Elsie Ottosin called on Mrs. J. Phillips from West Mount 111., and also traveled to Lisle, 111., to visit Mrs. R. Snelson. Girl Scout Troop Camped Out At Chapmann Hills A lively group of Girl Scouts from Troop 320 headed for the hills, Chapmann Hills, near East Troy, Wis., for a campout. They spent several days there August 8 through August 11. There were many activities to keep the girls busy. They sang songs with the scouts from other troops. There were skits as well as arts and crafts. The counselors told ghost stories around the camp fire, which always makes for a good night's sleep. For some of the girls, this was the first time on a campout., They learned a lot about the different aspects of scouting. The girls who went on the trip were Donna and Dawn Beshk, Kelly Kalk, Tammy Krug, Patty Shabow, Coleen .Sweeney, LesTi?h) Walters, Wendy Mueller, Kim Hansen, Betty Gerambio, Barb Humann, Lisa Bassett and Michelle Fish. LADIES "500" CARDCLUB The Ladies "500" card club met in the home of Ruby Shepard last Wednesday af ternoon. High score for the afternoon went to ^ivian Jackson and low went to Vera Fry. HAPPY BIRTHDAY We wish Mrs. Lois Mougha happy birthday on Aug. 22 and then on to the twenty-fifth when Leon Tonyan and Bobby Brennan both share their natal day. And as we speed along through the month we find ourselves on Aug. 28 wishing David Christopher and Rich Gillespie a most enjoyable day. On Aug. 29 Judy (Bruce) Beck and Patty Christopher share the day, Billy Dowell on Aug. 30, Richard Thompson and Richie Gillespie both on Aug. 31 and to start the new month, Bud Oxtoby on Sept. 1. The best of wishes to all of you. Mrs. Kalk and Mary Humann were the leadens for the Girl Scouts. Mrs. Humann and Mrs. Shabow drove the girls to around Aug. 30. Aug. 31 is a camp site. Mrs. Humann and special day for Kitty Hendle, their birthday wish on Aug. 25. This will be Maureen's sixth birthday. Coleen Rode and June Gilbertson celebrate on Aug. 27. Also, George Heurer, Jr., will Celebrate his sixth birthday on the twenty-seventh. Hattie Manning, Kevin Wyrm, Doris Krueger and rol Lasko have a circle Mrs. Bassett were the drivers for the trip home. A big bouquet goes to the mothers who helped out with the driving. LAKE OPEN FOR FISHING As of August 20, McCullom Lake is open to fishing. The McCullom Lake Conservation Club checked the progress of the fish in the lake and decided that fishing should begin now. According to the State of Illinois fishing regulations, all Northerns under 20 inches must be put back in the lake. Bass must be over 10 inches and there is a limit of 6 bass. You can take as many blue gills as you can catch. And, please don't throw any of the blue gills back into the lake. - TREATLAKE FOR WEEDS It has been found that the water lilies in McCullom Lake are harboring the parasite which causes the "swimmer's itch". The lily pads will be treated with a chemical to get rid of them. The chemical used is har mless to fish and people. The work will already be completed by the weekend. WORK AT BEACH During the hot weather of the past week the beaches are really getting a work out. Speaking of work have you noticed the work being done at the East Beach. It's really starting to shape up. CONDOLENCES Our deepest sympathy is extended to Mrs. Ruth Bates whose mother, Mrs. Lydia Gerber, passed away Aug. 15.
