RANDY D. HICKS Couple Wed In Saturday Evening Rite Miss Wendy J. Steinmetz and Mr. Randy D. Hicks chose Nativity Lutheran church, • Wonder Lake, for their wed­ ding, solemnized Saturday, Aug. 19. The Rev. Roger H. Olson officiated at the 7 o'clock service. Miss Steinmetz is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Steinmetz of 6201 Harts road, Ringwood. Mr. Hicks, who resides at 1119 S. Barreville road, McHenry, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hicks of Rt.- 2, Palisade, Minn. The church was decorated with bouquets of white gladioli and carnations, with a variety of white altar flowers and potted stands of pink car- nations. \/ The attractive (pride, escorted to the altar by her parents, wore a white, formal lehgth gown of peau de soie, in Victorian styling with pinafore effect. The bodice was of Venice lace and the A-Line skirt fell from an empire waistline. The dress had long, full Bishop sleeves with Venice lace trim on wide cuffs. Her headpiece was a face-framing design with Venice lace trim and ribbon streamers attached to the back. The two-tiered, imported illusion veil was elbow length and attached under it was a nine-foot train. Her bouquet consisted of white cymbidiums with pink roses. Debbie Steinmetz of Rich­ mond acted as maid of honor for her cousin. Bridesmaids were Becky Hicks of Rt. 2, Palisade, Minn., sister of the D0SKIES 4213 W. Tammy Stein­ metz of Ringwood acted as junior bride for her sister. The junior bride was attired similarly to the bride. The other attendants wore floor length dresses of white lace, each with a different color ribbon extending through the lace. The ribbon matched an "-underlay of silk in the colors of lavender, yeiiow and green. They carried cymbidium bouquets with colored streamers to match their dresses. Each had a white, wide-brim hat with ribbons and white gloves and shoes. Dennis Steinmetz of Ringwood, brother of the bride, served as best man. Groom­ smen were Allen Steinmetz and Wayne Steinmetz of Ringwood, also her brothers. The junior groom was David Hicks of Palisade, Minn., the bridegroom's brother. Ushers were Joseph Seinmetz of Rich­ mond and Merle Barrows of Lake Geneva. Jim Hicks of Palisade, another brother, was acolyte. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Steinmetz chose a blue crepe, floor length dress with rhinestones. Her corsage was a white orchid. Mrs. Hicks was attired in a pink dress and had- a white orchid corsage. A reception at 8 o'clock in the evening was held at the V.F.W. clubhouse for 150 guests. Roxanne and Lori Gottula of filk Creek, Nebr., were in charge of the guest book. The newlyweds will make their home at 1119 S. Barreville road, McHenry. Dorrence E. Tranel officiated at the 3 o'clock afternoon services. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Esther Lienhard of 1618 ° Meadow lane, McHenry, and Edward Lienhard of Wood­ stock. Her bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin George of 4504 Garden Quarter, McHenry. Musical selections presented at the services included "One Hand, One Heart", "Together Forever" and "Sunrise Sun­ set". The pretty bride chose a floor length, empire gown of whipped cream polyester and silk organza fashioned with a square neckline, lace bodice, long sheer organza sleeves with ruffled cuffs and a three-tiered skirt. The sleeves and tiered skirt were bordered with flowered lace in shades of yellow, green and white. Virginia Lienhard of Madison, Wis., attended her sister as maid of honor. Other attendants were Sue Smith of Oak Lawn and Debbie George of McHenry. Janet Lienhard of McHenry, served as junior bridesmaid. The attendants wore full length gowns of dotted Swiss in pastel shades of blue, pink, green and yellow, featuring square necklines, empire bodices, sofUy gathered skirts and long sleeves with wide cuffs. Each wore a matching sheer, wide brimmed hat trimmed with ribbons and bows. Dave George of McHenry served as best man. Groom­ smen were Tom Blenner, Mike Freund and Steve Rohrer, all of McHenry. Ushers were Ed­ ward, Charles and Christopher Lienhard of McHenry. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Lienhard chose a formal length gown of yellow and beige double knit with a jewel neckline. The groom's mother wore a floor length gown of aqua crepe with a beaded neckline. Following the ceremony, a reception for 175 guests was held at the American Legion hall, McHenry. Both the bride and groom are graduates of McHenry high school. The new Mrs. George has attended Western Dlinois university for the past year and a half. Her husband attended Western Illinois for one year and studied one year at Broward college in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. After a wedding trip to Wisconsin, the young couple will make their home in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Young of 3305 E. Lake Shore drive, Wonder Lake, became the bride of Jerry Scott Brown, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard S. Brown of 805 Seventh avenue SW, Austin, Minn. The Rev. Roger H. Olson and Father D.E. Tranel officiated at the 4:30 afternoon services in a church decorated with altar bouquets of white daisies and mums with accents of orange gladioli. The pretty bride chose an empire gown of imported white organza and alencon lace featuring a high-rise waist trimmed with lace and ribbons, long fitted sleeves enhanced with lace flowers, a scalloped neckline formed of appliqued lace rose motifs with pearl centers and an A-line skirt which flowed into an attached chapel length train edged with alencon lace. Her full length cathedral and bouffant blusher veils were attached to a camelot headpiece highlighted with matching roses. She carried a cascading bouquet of white daisies with a removable center_ corsage of orange roses. Joann Schabow of McHenry attended her friend as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Gloria Frese of Chicago, Mrs. Michael (Ruth Ann) Hoerl of Madison, Wis., and Miss Julie Brown of Austin, Minn. The attendants wore floor length gowns of flocked floral organza over bright orange, featuring long puffed sleeves with large cuffs and empire waistlines accented with green velvet ribbons. Each carried a colonial bouquet of white and yellow daisies trimmed with green velvet streamers. A college friend of the groom, Michael Hoerl, served as best man. Groomsmen were Richard B. Brown and Timothy Brown of Austin, Minn., and Jay Young of Wonder Lake. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Young chose a floor length dress of blue chiffon and an orange Talisman glamellia corsage. The groom's mother wore a floor length dress of yellow knit and chiffon with a similar corsage. Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held for 140 guests at the Hunter Countrv club. Richmond. Joyce, a 1969 graduate of MCHS, attended Beloit college, graduating in 1972. The bridegroom graduated from the same college in 1971 and is now attending the University of Wisconsin. After a short trip to Wisconsin, the young couple will make their home at 2316 Badger Parkway, Madison, Wis. Hojnacki announce the birth of their first child, a daughter, on Aug. 13, at Sherman hospital, Elgin. The baby weighed 6 lbs., 2 oz., and has been named Jennifer Lynn. Mrs. Hojnacki is the former Martha Nihil. CITY FESTIVAL The city of Loves Park will celebrate the silver an­ niversary of its incorporation with a three-day festival this weekend. Loves Park, which calls itself "The City With A Heart", takes its name from Malcolm Love, one of the early owners of the land that is now the city. When the state issued Loves Park a charter, it became Illinois' first new city in 50 years. It now has a population of 12,390 according to the 1970 census.
