Cieslak THE GOOD OLD DAYS Oh! for the good old days of yore When our frigidaire was the cellar floor. Our lavatory the kitchen sink And a pasture pond, our skating rink. \ we For Tes &N S' of the Times m m Today's pollution problem was evident on many beaches this summer. We washed once a week on the old wash board And heated our flats on the old wood stove. We kids gathered around the old wooden churn or the unsalted butter, waiting our turn spread on Mom's good homemade bread Of which enough has never been said. ,We trudged half a mile to the old country school Where we were taught the Golden Rule. I can still see the old pot-bellied stove Which we gathered around to toast our toes. We bathed once a week in the old wash tub, The same one on which Monday we rubbed.
