Dear Louisa, When I have a date I go to extra pains to look my best and I think that is the right thing to do because I want the boy I am with to be proud of his companion. Now my mother and my sisters laugh at me about this and say I am trying to be someone I am not because I don't look like this all of the time. What do you think about this? Do you think I should go out looking just like I do when I am working about the house? B,G.--Va. Answer: I am a" great believer in making the best of what we have. Now a person who is working about a house should look as good as possible. even then, but it stands to reason that after such work is done one has to arrange the hair, take a bath and change clothes. This doesn't mean that one has to look like a ref u g e e w h e n s h e i s d o i n g household work. A neat dress or house coat with a clean face and brushed hair is appropriate and looks good at such a time. But I agree with you that you owe your companion to look as good as possible when you have a date. This doesn't mean heavy make-up but it does mean good grooming and becoming clothes. Just don't spend too much time before your mirror as too much artificial make-up may give you a cheap appearence. Louisa. Weave a Lattice Over Luscious Peaches Summer's juiciest sun ripened peaches are too lovely to be hidden under even the best of upper crusts. The golden slices seem meant to show off between the openings of woven lattice. Don't let the peach season pass without making Fresh Peach Lattice Pie at least once. Fresh JPeach Lattice Pie 1 recipe double crust pastry % teaspoon salt Mi to % cup sugar 5 cups peeled, sliced l\/2 to 2 tablespoons corn ripe peaches starch 1 teaspoon lemon juice 1 tablespoon margarine Mix together sugar, corn starch and salt; sprinkle over peaches. Add lemon juice and toss together until well coated. Line a 9-inch pie pan with one half of pastry allowing 1 inch overhang. Fill shell with peach mixture and dot with marg arine. Roll remaining pastry into 12-inch circle. Cut into 10 (%-inch) strips with pastry wheel or knife. Place 5 of the strips across filling. Weave lattice crust with remaining strips by folding back alternate strips as each cross strip is added. Fold trimmed edge of lower crust over ends of strips; seal and flute. Bake in a 425° F. (hot) oven 30 to 35 minutes or until browned. Listen!
