The fall to beautiful in Veterans Acres, but the McHenry Running Warriors did little viewing as they hustled to a first place victory last Monday in the Crystal Lake Invitational Cross Country meet. (STAFF PHOTO-WAYNE GAYLORD) By Dick Rabbitt If you ever wondered what all that shouting was about on Saturday mornings at Mc- Cracken field, there are six young freshmen cheerleaders you can blame. These young girls whoop and holler for the Freshmen "A" and "B" squads. There are times when these young gals also board a bus about 7:15 and head for Zion, and other points East with the Freshmen squad. You have to give them a lot of credit because there are no big crowds on hand, only a handful of faithful parents who journey to these games. These girls, like their counterparts the; Sophomores and Varsity, also have a variety of talent and interests. Karen Day is 14 years old. Her hobbies are skiing, playing the piano, bowling, and ice skating. She is a member of the McHENRY'S RUSS GROVER MARK GIBSON KERRY DECKER Three McHenry Warriors have been chosen by the coaching staff as "Player of the Week" for their efforts against Crystal Lake last Saturday. The Warrior defensive ends, Mark Gibson and Kerry Decker kept Crystal Lake's running game in the middle by pushing the Tigers to the inside. e's TRU-VALUE PHARMACY 1327 N.
