An Important Seminar and Lecture on Mind Control" & ESP for everyone interested in developing mental powers Recently, many national publications such as LIFE, GLAMOUR, and THE WALL STREET JOURNAL featured articles on "BRAIN WAVES" and "BRAIN TRAINING." These articles discussed a fantastic breakthrough, a new science dealing with the conscious control of brain waves. This new science is called Alphagenics and concerns itself with the Alpho rhythms of brain. Noted researchers discussed how any person can learn to control brain waves and revealed some of the phenomenal capabilities of man with self-control of his brain waves. Exploration of this almost unknown continent -- the human brain -- has been pioneered by a soft-spoken para-psychol ogist, Jose Silva, of the Institute of Psychorientology in Laredo Texas. This sincere, dedicated scientist has been training people to enhance Alpha Brain Wave production for many years. ALPHA BRAIN WAVE FUNCTION - Twenty-six years ago Silva and his associates began their research in Mind Control to see if it was possible to increase a person's IQ factor. Amazing ly, Silva discovered that not only could IQ be increased but a person trained in this technique could even control certain areas of the Autonomic System -- heart beat, respiration, blood pressure, etc 60,000 Graduates Coast to Coast The implications of this breakthrough with regard to health and disease were staggering. With Mind Control, students have reported that they have been able to control pain, accelerate healing, elim inate insomnia, migraine headaches, as well as untold psychosomatic problems. In-depth studies also revealed that anyone with a normal brain and sufficient training could develop so called ESP and clairvoyance. 60,000 GRADUATES - COAST TO COAST -- Three years ago the Institute decided to release their findings to the general public. Techniques had been refined to where only a few hours of class time were all that was required to become a truly effective person. RESULTS GUARANTEED - With the mastery and the enhancement of Alpha Brain Wave function, students have reported they could relax anytime they desire, banish anxiety and tension, eliminate pain, enhance learning capac ity and memory, eliminate bad habits, create good habits and control weight and smoking. By learning to function at the Alpha level you will easily develop psychic power and learn practical applications of ESP Become a better student, parent, employee or employer and a more effective problem solver. Report Damage To Foot Bridge Across Creek Many Lakeland Park residents were very pleased to see the walking bridge con structed at Center avenue across the creek, making it possible to walk up to the shopping center without walking the long way around. If you are witness to such destruction, please call the police and report it. We've waited a long time for a bridge across the drainage ditch. Public acquisition of flood plains is an immediate flood control solution that can con tribute long lasting and varied benefits to northeastern Illinois, according to a preliminary Wetland and Flood Plain Management document" prepared by Northeastern Illinois Planning commission (NBPC) staff. The Wetlands report recommends that flood plain purchase be given precedence in the awarding of federal open space grants because of flood plains' multiple benefit potential in public use. Unveiled before the NIPC Planningcohimittee Nov. 1. the report is to be reviewed in a joint session of the Planning and Inter-governmental Relations committees. By stressing flood plains for open space, the Wetlands report is emphasizing an ob jective of the Regional Open Space plan to preserve green belts along creeks and streams for conservation and recreation purposes. Flood plain acquisition received the report's top promotion because of its rank on a score card rating these water resource management objectives: minimizing flood damage, conserving surface water, conserving ground water and preserving open space. NIPC Commissioner Mrs. Laura Pollak noted Wednesday the timely completion of the Wetlands report and its relationship to the late August floods along Salt Creek in northeast DuPage and nor thwest Cook counties. Salt Creek flooding prompted over $11 million in Small Business administration claims for property damage along the flood plain. Larry Christmas, NIPC assistant director, said that Salt Creek overflow will con tinue to cause about $850,000 property damage per year to existing structures in the flood plain. , "We were fortunate the' forest preserve district (Busse Woods) was already there," Christmas said. "If not, the remedies would be more ex pensive. Twenty-five years ago, $1 million would have bought the entire Salt Creek flood plain. Now it will cost us $26 million in patch-up costs just to safeguard existing development. How much better it would have been to protect the flood plain as public open space." NIPC has long urged that development be restricted from flood plaujs-aTTth^that these seasonal, natural reservoirs be turned over for public usages. Some 25 per cent, or 40^000 acres, . of reeommended regional open space is flood plain land. Christmas said the current market value of flood plain land averages around $10,000 peracre, based on a U.S. Soil Conservation Service study of upper Salt Creek. Noting another report recommendation that the state contribute 25 per cent of the cost of buying open space, Christmas said this provision could bring the cost of flood plain purchase, though large, within the reach of local governments. The federal government contributes 50 per cent open space funding through the Department of Housing and Urban Develop- 4CORNERS At a recent 4 Corners meeting, election of officers was held. The newly elected officers are president, Cindy Schmitt; vice-president, Margo Busch; secretary, Debbie Rinda; treasurer Dorothy Hoffman; recreation, Cindy Miller; refreshment, Julieanne Sutton; reporter, Janet Werner and flag chairman, Albert Sch mitt.
