V.A. NEWS EDITOR'S NOTE: Veterans and their families are asking thousands of questions con cerning the benefits their Government provides for them through the Veterans Ad ministration. Below are some representative queries. Ad ditional information may be obtained at any VA office. Q - I am a 70-year-old veteran drawing pension for a non-service connected disability. Am I entitled to outpatient treatment at a VA hospital? A - No, unless you have been found in need of aid and at tendance, or you are per manently housebound. Q - I'm going to graduate school under the GI Bill. How many hours must I carry for VA to pay me the full educational allowance? A - Since this is not prescribed by law, VA will pay the full educational allowance based on the school's cer tification that the student is attending the school full time. Half time or quarter time rates are paid on the basis of the schools certification also. Q - My husband, who was formerly married, says it is not necessary to change the beneficiary on his $10,000 National Service Life In surance policy since VA automatically pays insurance proceeds to the wife of the veteran. Is this true? A - No. VA must pay the designated beneficiary of Dear Louisa, I have this problem with my boyfriend. We have per mission in my house to talk. For the first five months everything was just great. But then during the summer he split to Colorado and I went to Utah. When we came back he was a different per son. He flirted with other girls and said that they were only friends. But he said he still loves me. What do you think it is? What do you think has hap pened to him? Do you think he met a better girl than me? Do you think he feels sorry for me? For what you have read do you think he still loves me? Worried--Texas. Answer: Your boyfriend has prob ably decided that he doesn't like going steady and that he enjoys being with and dating several people rather than one girl. If a young man is truly in" love with someone and is old enough to be considering marriage in the near future he will not be interested in dating other girls nor will he like his girl friend to date other men. So my advice to you is to go on being friendly but not to take this young man too seriously. Louisa. The sweater pair has come back into style and is very popular worn with short skirts. Solid color sweaters- pullover and cardigan--are worn over the same color skirt or over check or plaid skirts with the same color base. Necklaces are worn about halfway to the waistline with sport clothes. Knitted dresses or knitted pants suits are good this winter. record. Therefore, your husband must name you as beneficiary if he wants you to receive the death benefits on his NSLI policy. LARRY LEAFBLAD JOINS JIM JORDAN WEEKDAYS AT A Q . i r a ia NEW TIME 3-*3 H.lfl. I said all sorts of things that I shouldn't have said and now I am afraid to go back home. What should I do? I am a school girl. Worried--Ga. Answer: . All of us say things we regret at times and the most courageous thing for you to do is to go home and tell your, parents that you are sorry for acting as you did. I feel sure that your parents love you and want the best things for you and they will be very glad to have you back home. Try to keep out of arguments. Louisa. •ess your Louisa, P.O. TIME WILL soon be ripe for the mid-season TV sand wich. That's when new good ie shows are put between the ones that are success ful, replacing those that spoiled the ratings. SOME OLD STARS in new shows will be between the bread buns at mid-season. Look for Shirley Booth in a comedy called "Touch of Grace;" Barbara Stanwyck in a newspaper drama call ed "The American Eagle;" and Dawn Lyn in "Daddy's Girl."
