B & P Club Hears Social Security Talk The Business and Professional Women's club held its monthly meeting, Monday night, Nov. 20, at the Bavaria Haus, Johnsburg. Over fifty members and guests were present. An informative talk was given by the guest speaker, John K. Watkins, field representative for the Social Security administration, 224 W. Judd street, Woodstock. Watkins clarified many questions in regard to retirement benefits and what must be done before retirement to insure full credit from earnings. During the business meeting, the club moved to support several worthy causes, among them the full support of the dub to be given to Sheriff Art Tyrrell in regard to prohibiting pornography being shown where the general public has to Serve Pancake Breakfast To Public Dec. 3 Ttie Viscounts of McHenry county extend an invitation to participate in their annual pancake breakfast Sunday, Dec. 3, at the Legion home, located on Ringwood road. This year, in conjunction with the breakfast, there will be a bake sale. It is a fine time to obtain goodies for the nominal sum and also help this organization of young musicians. The Viscounts are composed of boys and girls from the age of 10 to 21 years from all parts of the county. It provides an organized group that teen agers can enjoy and relieve some of today's tensions. The corps is financed solely by contributions. Help from the public is solicited at this time by purchasing tickets to the breakfast. They will be available at the door. Open Country Store Bazaar In Woodstock St. Mary's Country Store Bazaar in Woodstock will open Saturday, Nov. 25, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 26, from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the cafeteria on 312 Lincoln street in Woodstock. The ladies have been busy for several months working on their special projects. Christmas ornaments, pine cone decorations, stuffed animals, doll clothes, knit articles and baked goods are some of the items the ladies have made. Friendship dub Holiday Pot-Luck Dec. 9 On Saturday evening, Dec. 9, the Friendship club will have its Christmas pot-luck dinner and meeting, starting at 6 p.m. in the dining room of the First United Methodist church. Reciprocity Day Program For Woman's Club Mrs. Kenneth Macafee, president of the 11th district, Illinois Federation of Women's Clubs, was a special guest at the last meeting of the McHenry Woman's club, which was observing Reciprocity Day. It was also Art Day, and many members brought items of art work, paintings and needlework, etc. Entertainment was furnished by John Ainlay, a magician and Frank Adams' Observe 55th Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Frank 1.. Adams of West avenue, McHenry, last Sunday held open house at their home for relatives and friends in ob servance of their fifty-fifth wedding anniversary. The actual wedding date was Nov. 21. Mr., and Mrs. Adams were married in Johnsburg. Both are in good health, and Mr. Adams is only semi-retired. They have four children, Clarence and Albert of McHenry, Edward of Hialeah, Fla., and Mrs. Joseph (Florence) Nischan of McHenry. Watery Wood? Thirty-eight members of the Woman's club attended a matinee recently and urged all who have not seen this show to attend Dec. 1. The Illinois Law Enforcement commission awarded more than $1.7 million dollars to fund eighteen programs in crime prevention and control at its meeting Nov. 17, according to Chairman Arthur J. Bilek. Among grant applications approved for funding was $106,992 to the McHenry county board of supervisors for im plementing a county mobile teleprinter and regional communications system.
