Gallagher of the Illinois State Police, District 2, will be promoted to the rank of cor­ poral. Originally from Chicago, Gallagher has been with the State Police since Jan. 13,1958. After graduation from the State Police Training academy, Gallagher was assigned to District 2 in Elgin. While there, he has worked on the Truck Weight detail and was in charge of the detail for two years. Gallagher received the superintendent's award in 1967 for the capture of three escaped convicts from West Virginia. Gallagher is nowNjne of the first aid instructors in District 2. He has also served in the past as instructor at the State Police Training academy in Springfield.
