This year's winner is Mason Croker, a freshman art student from Cary. Pacelli. "We are asking the people of Wonder Lake to complete their Christmas mailings on or before Dec. 16, 1972." This particular week was chosen because it is just nine days before Christmas, and postal personnel desperately need these important days to deliver the millions of greetings in time for Christmas. The old fashion habit of mailing late adds a tremendous volume on your postal carrier who is required to perform a job almost beyond his physical capabilities. VILLAGE BOARD I still hear the village board meetings are not very well attended. The board of trustees meets on the second and fourth Monday of every month. The village was incorporated April 1955. An election was held on May 14. Jakp Levesque was elected present with Mrs. Emma Pyritz being elected village clerk. Much has hap­ pened since, it is a certainty, much more is to come. The Law Serves You If Owner Dies, Take These Steps Before Opening Safety Deposit Box If the owner of a safety deposit box has deceased, -ho one - including the surviving spouse or other member of the family - should open the box until authority to do so is ob­ tained from the office, of the Illinois attorney general or state treasurer, according to the Illinois State Bar association. The ISBA said Illinoisans should be aware that failure to notify the attorney general or state treasurer of the death of the safety deposit box owner or joint owner and to obtain consent before entering the box is punishable by law. It added that an officer of the bank or vault company where the safety deposit box is located also should be notified of the death. ' The bar group said a lawyer or other representative of the deceased may apply in person or by mail, telephone or telegram to the office of the attorney general or state treasurer for authority to enter the box, as follows: To the State Treasurer, 160 N. LaSalle street, Chicago, if the box is located in Cook County and the deceased resided in any county in Illinois or in another state. To the Attorney General's office, Supreme Court Bldg., Springfield, 111., if the box is located in any county other than Cook and the decased resided in any county other than Cook, McHenry, Lake or DuPage county.' To the Attorney General's Office, 160 N. LaSalle St., Chicago, if the box is located in any county other than Cook and the deceased resided in Cook, McHenry, Lake or DuPage county or was a non-resident of Illinois. At the time of first entry to the deposit box, certain documents, such as burial instructions, military discharge papers, and the deed to a cemetery lot, may be removed by persons entitled to these documents or by their attorney, the ISBA said.
